Could it be Rita Benson is now the acting owner or something along those lines?

Do the Saints support the coastal preservation efforts too or is that just he Pels? I wonder if it's some PR BS about their charity work.

That was my first thought but what a fail that would be.

Driveman said don't get excited so this is likely some kind of charity thing or sponsorship thing.

In all seriousness, a sponsorship thing makes sense. I'll be watching Darren Rovel's nerd arse twitter.

I'm going to put on my new Pelitard cap and assume this press conference is to announce a new sponsor, the money from which will be used to shed Asik and sign a shooter (or just pay the tax).

I'd be okay with a corporate jersey logo and on-court logo if it helps take the team to the next level.

People on ST saying it's a new partnership with Ochsner.

Would they replace our amateur medical staff?

They're the same people currently paying to be the team medical staff. I'm not saying that they're part of the problem, but the fact that they are paying to be the medical staff surely keeps the team from looking at other solutions.

Yeah I don't understand making this a "major announcement" considering how shitty our training is...

Unless there is talk of a dual venture to put together an actual world class sports medicine facility and attract better doctors and trainers.

That's shocking. I always have been under the impression that Ochsner was an elite medical facility with elite doctors and staff.

If they've been handling the Pels injuries, my opinion of Oshsner will never be the same.

As someone who works in the medical community, Ochsner is far from elite.

Ocshner is a good hospital and great for heart care but caring for world class athletes is another thing. The specialists provided to both teams need to have already worked under other great sports medical personnel and not just come from treating ordinary patients.
