how much can a 6'2 SG demand? He's not exactly at an elite level yet.

And Collison wasn't a role player for the Hornets?

he was almost an elite pg last year when he was starting, as a rookie

his value is that of an elite point guard, or slightly under that

not a guy we could have gotten as a FA for free last year

By the time his contract expires, there will be a new CBA. We can just wait and see before we flip out.

what's the fun or logic in that?

besides, since we are unsure of what a new CBA would mean, some of us would be unable to pretend we are masterminds.

I've never heard of Marco Belinelli. Is he any good? Is he at least better than Juju?

Even though it's small, this is a GREAT deal. I thought for sure we'd have to pay someone to take Juju, instead we get one of the role players we really needed.

This is great. My two least favorite Hornets of all time both shipped off on the same day.

Here's a write up on Belinelli from Summer League 2008. Yeah it's summer league but once nba players start playing the only info you can often find are stats. Some site needs to start writing in depth profiles for all the players.

quote:

Belinelli put on a tremendous performance, showing the same offensive prowess that he did last season. Forced and made shots from all over the place when he got hot early in the second. Though he took quite a few questionable shots, Belinelli shot a solid percentage from the field. He’ll take a lot of jumpers off balance with a hand in his face, but when he’s in the zone, it really doesn’t matter. Despite his prowess as a shooter, he showed some nice slashing ability too, getting to the rim and going to the line. He’s not a great finisher in traffic, but aims to get to the line when he gets in the paint. His aggressiveness as a scorer is his claim to fame, but he also showed good court vision today. His flair for passing made for a couple of nice highlight reel no-looks that ended with dunks for his teammates. This is an ideal level of play for Belinelli, since his defensive deficiencies are taken advantage of and he has free reign offensively. Whether he can translate that to the NBA at some point remains doubtful.
