What are the odds the team is aware of the 2 weeks meme, Jose plays tomorrow night, and David Griffin comes out with a:

Has it?
Yea

Don't get me wrong, he's a solid player. But there's just something about him when he's on the court, we win our minutes over and over. I know my initial post was defensive related, but I also mean overall. He just wins when he's on the court.

And the sample size is 2 seasons and a good bit of minutes to think it's not all that random.

He has a ton of deficiencies, but whatever he does, we win minutes when he plays.

Fair notice- I haven’t looked at advanced metrics on this so I could be completely off. But I didn’t feel like our defense took this big dip when he got injured and I love Jose.
It was something like 110 Drtg when he's on vs 114 when he's off. It was if I recall something like equivalent of 2nd best defense when he played and 17th best when he was off.

And the season before, the difference was 7 points in Drtg better when he plays. I don't know how he does it, but he just does it lol.

What is less than zero?

Meanwhile the odds of 2 weeks turning into many many many weeks are much higher

I agree with you he is this teams X-factor. I think part of his efficiency on defense is how he also provides his efficiency on offense. I feel like his plus/minus is great with guys like CJ and Zion. Theres no one on this roster that can provide his efficiency as a PG. He’ll be missed but I’m hoping Kira can help with the offense and more minutes for Dyson will help our defense. But we’ll miss him on that random wednesday back to back night when energy is literally flat and Jose basically gets this team to compete again.

Why are players getting injured trying to come back?

You treat/rehab, monitor and test. Once the scans look clean you should start ramping up activity. That's just the way the human body works.

What scares me into thinking this could be more than 2 weeks is they sent him to a specialist. He's been an NFL doctor for a few decades with an apparent focus on foot and ankle injuries.

I'm glad to see them engaging experts, but it's kind of scary for what should have been a simple ankle sprain.

Oschner is the problem. New Orleans as a whole is subpar when it comes to healthcare

We are in the record book of statistics for how perpetually hurt one NBA organization is year over year.

My first thought when I saw that was they are worried about the stress reactions from last year

Dyson should get most of these minutes, but I bet for some absurd reason that they go to Kira instead.

Thinking our medical staff cannot diagnose an injury correctly to save their lives. This is ridiculous.

Hope Dyson gets those minutes but whatever happens...Dyson will probably blow past Kira & Jose during this season. Just a matter of time. But as always, that's just my opinion...I COULD be wrong.

Words of a death blow. This mother fricking franchise.

I'll say it again but please do not get your hopes up for this team. They will disappoint again.

REEVALUATED in 2 weeks.

He was injured I believe 5 weeks ago today.

So that's 7 weeks before he's even revaluated, for an ankle sprain.

So likely at least 8-10 weeks for him to play total.

Unreal

Only happens to the Pelicans. We're a complete loser franchise.

I think your letting your Saints disappointment leak onto the pelicans board. It’s frustrating but lets them play a couple regular season games first.
