I believe that a major factor that went into the original contract was Zion’s serious injury at Duke caused by his shoe falling apart. The contract was probably at least in part an injury settlement without the unpleasantness of a lawsuit.

maybe there was some sort of waiver release included and that is a fair take but the hype on zion was worth the risk of the contract alone. he was destined for stardom until he ate himself into depression.

He was wearing Nike Kyries…I don’t think hoopers worried about either as the Kyrie line was super successful until Kyrie went full Covid in Brooklyn. The first 2 Zions did pretty well. It’s just fans want to see the player do great things in the shoes. We relate a lot of favorite Jordans to what we remember him doing in them.
Zion is barely seen in any of his line on the sideline in street clothes

Zion going to be on the next “Broke” documentary

I wonder if it will kick in that he is blowing the last leg of his NBA career. The guy goes broke on child support, fast food, and odd shaped strippers but his family will ultimately be his downfall. They will milk him dry.

He better learn to properly invest in stocks or something.

I don't feel bad for him though.

I have zero reason to wear basketball shoes but the Zion 1's were actually pretty good looking basketball shoes.

The Jordan low's Zion/Voodoo edition was pretty sweet.
