I don't think anyone is lying, I just think that JJ is completely in the wrong and is being naive by thinking that we would cater to his wishes.

if JJ actually had any value on the court, we might have gotten some decent offers from an Northeastern team. It's his fricking fault for being such a garbage shooter last year

Wasn’t JJ down here in part, to eventually be folded into a front office position? I believe that was scuttlebutt back in the day.
Now if that were the case I could see why he would attempt to handle it on his own if he felt he had that relationship with Griff and Langdon.
JJ having a platform, (and not a team currently) is not good for us. A team would real him in.
If he does want a FO career anywhere he should sftu anyway.

I don't know where that rumor started. If you listened to more than a few episodes of his podcasts you could tell his future plans were not even remotely compatible with the grind of coaching or front officing.

In no reality is JJ in the right around this situation.
People can hate Griffin all they want, but Griffin would deserve more hate for this situation playing out as JJ would have wanted it to play out.
This situation should point to JJ never being approached by a league organization for anything after the way he handled this one.

If he had played mediocre, not even well, we might not have had to trade him. If he could have knocked down wide open threes, we would have been in playoff contention.
