Jax development has accelerated much quicker than NAW

Are we concerned?

No. He had to with Zion out and Favors constantly injured.
Meanwhile we're flush with guards so playing time is limited in that position.

Jax is so ridiculous talented that he’s getting by and succeeding on shear athleticism. NAW doesn’t have that, he needs to refine his game in a variety of ways, and I think he will.
Eventually, Jax needs to do the same because he can’t get by on his freakish athleticism for too long.
Both will have an interesting offseason imo.

I think Jax is destined for a John Collins type career unless he develops a jumper. But that's actually fine

Jax playing time has accelerated much quicker than NAW.
Both these guys are extremely talented, you saw it in SL and preseason.
Rookies develop with playing time during the season. There’s very few practices.

Jax needs to defend better.
Work on a PJ Brown jumper.
Continue working on Free throw shooting.
With his body development, sky is the limit.

I want him to get to where he at least doesn't look like an absolute fool trying to score with his back to the basket. Honestly feel like he has the touch and coordination to develop a good sky hook/baby hook like AD used a lot early in his career

Centers typically develop much quicker than point guards. Offensively, there's not much difference between catching lobs in college v. catching lobs in the pros. Defensively is where rookie centers struggle because of PnRs, switches, etc., and we've still seen Jax have his fair share of struggles there.
We can't forget that NAW was the 17th pick in the draft. He wasn't even a lottery pick. His expectations in his first year were far too high, and rightfully so based off his production in summer league and preseason. The issue for rookie point guards though is adjusting to NBA length and athleticism, all while having to learn the mental aspect. I think NAW is still a step slow right now in his processing, which is why we've seen him struggle. I fully expect him to take over that backup PG role next year, however. Fred Vanvleet shot 35% from the field in his rookie year. Not everyone is Ja Morant.

This. NAW doesn't have a role right now since his current form is a rookie version of Frank Jackson.

He’s gotten waayyy more PT than NAW so I don’t think those are fair comparisons. NAW has shown when gets extended minutes he can get into a groove

I might be misunderstanding this but NAW and Frank couldn't be more opposite as players

Pretty sure I saw a stat that says he leads all centers in percentage made.

Definitely not one of the top three things he needs to work on. For his age and position, he's ahead of the game with his free throws. He has a sweet stroke from the line.

No for multiple reasons:
1. Hayes got PT out of necessity, which helped him develop. We have lots of guards vying for minutes, so NAW hasn't had the same opportunities.
2. Their roles are entirely different. Being able to roll and dunk does not require a lot of nuance and development. NAW is being asked to run the offense when he is in. That does require a lot of nuance and development.
3. There has been visible improvement from NAW, it's just not as obvious to the casual observer.

my comment wasn't meant that he is bad at it. he's got great touch, he's actually only shooting 63% now, he can easily be an 80-85% ft shooter sooner than later. that's huge capitolizing off of and 1's.

exactly. he can be an 80% plus free throw shooter very quickly.

That's definitely not correct. He's at .627. There are a dozens of centers shooting better than that.

Last night during the broadcast Joel said he led all centers in FT%.

NAWs inefficiency is troublesome. Lot of Pels bloggers fooled fans into thinking he was a certified dude.
