Expect trade to be made soon so wouldn't be surprised if these guys are right. Both teams are posturing in the media and holding players out. Both desperately want the trade done before all star as it is a bad look for Philly if not and Nola wants to generate buzz before hosting all star.

That account says a discussed trade was 2018 protected 1st, Ajinca, and Moore for Okafor

That would be a pretty awful trade for us. The only thing I could say is if the lottery protection was 2 years and then went to 2nds. Then maybe.

But damn. Ajinca, while awful, his contract isn't THAT big, and Moore is a very useful player.

i'd only be up for it if that 1st is at the very least top 15 protected

All of that? I would hope that if Moore were included, the protection would be very high (or that Asik was included instead of Ajinca).

I would want full lotto protection year one, at least top 12 year two, and then 2 2nds or something year 3.

Giving up Ajinca instead of Asik and giving Moore as well would increase the protections on that pick by a lot.

yea taking Asik is one thing but Ajinca and Moore are pretty serviceable players on pretty good contracts

should help that protection

Ajinca isn't serviceable but he CAN play some Offense and his contract is kind of a drop in the bucket in the new CBA.

Moore, on the other hand, is on a great deal, is a 2 way player, and is very serviceable. Could be a useful player.

I would want serious lotto protection for more than one year if that's what we are giving for a guy like Okafor (of course, I wouldn't be doing the deal at all)

Oh so now people are acting like Ajinca is a decent player? I don't think there's a single realistic trade Demps could make that this board would be happy about.

Didn't I just say he isn't a serviceable player?

The thing is though that he's 7'2" and is decent offensively (just royally sucks at everything else), and his contract isn't THAT bad (meaning, it is not Asik/Hill levels of steaming piles of dogshit).

Including Moore kind of nullifies that.

"serviceable" and "decent" are pretty loose terms. relax bro no one is saying they are key pieces

Would think that if this were true, after this amount of time, Woj would have gotten ahold of it. I cannot imagine that Platoon USA has better sources than Woj.

No, he still sucks, but I'd much rather dump Asik's contact than Ajinca's

Until I see details from "The Platoon" and then other more reliable sources break it (in the Pels case, Stein), then I think they are guessing. No one remember if wrong and everyone remembers if right.

Woj has no sources with the Pels. Nationally you have to look at Stein.

I'm sure he has sources with the 6ers, though.

Woj could very well know what's going on, but he's an actual journalist, I'm sure he has to sit on news a little longer before releasing it unlike some anonymous account on Twitter.

Not saying it is or isn't true, just possible woj knows but can't tweet it yet.

Woj has sources throughout the league. If the trade has happened, he would know about it. So far, the only one to report is Platoon.

Let's hope it isn't true, because unless the protection is so strong it's basically 2nds, The Platoon is saying Ajinca + Moore + 2018 protected pick. That's way too much for Okafor unless like I said, the 1st is likely to become 2nds.

FWIW, the platoon guys says he still doesn't know the exact deal, just that Okafor is going to NOLA. That was just one of the discussed trades.
