The thing is the Nets really want Bridges that was like a key element to the trade.

Bridges is one of the best 3&D players in the league with also one of the best contracts in the league. The Nets as currently constructed are also just good enough to be a low-end playoff team. They have already banked 32 wins. They don't have any of their picks for the immediate future minus a pick swap this season. So tanking doesn't make much sense. Unless someone blows their socks off with an offer for Bridges, there is no need to trade him and just give the fans a team that will win some and they can still root for.

They'll probably let him show that he's more than just a 3 and D guy and sell him off for a haul in the summer or at some point next season. He's got the potential to be 3 draft pick haul.
