He created his way to 4 for 17

Love Hawk, but I’m not going to congratulate him for shooting a lot and missing in a game

Literally no one wanted to shoot.

Sure would have been nice to get some mid range shots from BI against Herro and Duncan Robinson all night.

Were you watching the game? They forced the ball to him because no one else wanted to create. Not congratulating him. But son of a bitch he wasn’t scared

I love that about Hawkins. He takes the right shots and has a short memory. Compare that to Trey where he shies away from shooting when his shots don't fall. Hawkins mentality is what makes him dangerous.

Hawk got fouled on at least 4 of his 3 point attempts on getting the call on 1 had numerous other 3 rim out while actually wanting the ball got nothing but respect for Hawk for not shying away from the moment wish he could have got the same catch and shoot looks Trey was bricking all night.

I generally have no issues when guys miss shots. It's a problem when they start to hesitate and shy away from taking good shots when it doesn't fall.

You're essentially killing the entire play that our creators worked so hard to get you an open shot. When it's there, you can't hesitate.

Shooting the second you touch it isn't exactly creating.

Moving quickly off picks/screens and creating immediate space for yourself to shoot is creating.

You are right, so don’t let the naysayers get to you. I love Hawkins, but he shoots an entirely different percentage when he is on balance with a little bit of space, which he can still do coming around curls or catch and shoots. He just needs to have a little more discretion with it. Now tonight, we had little else available on many possessions because we simply didn’t have enough scoring options against a team with very good defensive efficiency.

BI would have helped.

Yep. His off ball movement and “feel” is already better than Trey imo.

I don't blame him for lack of space. We were playing 4 on 5 with JRE out there.
