Interesting 3 man lineup stats

Yesterday I was curious how many minutes CJ, BI, and Zion have played together this year, and that number is 172. They have a net rating of +16.5 in those minutes, which is their sixth best 3 man lineup with 150+ minutes. For comparison sake, CJ, Naji, and Trey have played 409 minutes together, which is the Pelicans third most used 3 man lineup.
What I found most interesting though, is the Pelicans top three 3 man lineups all hold a negative net rating. Jonas, CJ, and Trey lead with 521 minutes played, with a net rating of -3.1. Jonas, CJ, and Naji come in second at 416 minutes with a net rating of -4.4, and the before mentioned CJ, Naji, and Trey come in 3rd with 409 minutes and a net rating of -4.9.
If you look at the two teams ahead of us in the West, the Nuggets top three lineups are at +14.4, +15.1, and +15.7. You have to go all the way down to their 14th most used lineup to find one that's under +10, and their 19th most used lineup to find one that's in the negatives.
Memphis is at +13.1, +9.8, and +17.2. You have to go to their 22nd most used lineup to find one with a negative net rating. 9 of the Pelicans 22 most used lineups have a negative net rating.
Yes I know it's selective, but I went down that rabbit hole looking at CJ, BI, and Zion. When you look at it from that perspective though, it's wildly impressive where we currently sit.

Very cool data. I think folks need to understand Jonas in context. He is very much out of place vs some run and gun teams. But he’s also an offensive weapon and auto double/double. He is our rebounding core. He’s a needed player on our team and the key to unlocking half our 5 man combos. Huge defensive liability but very necessary for our team. It’s up to Willie to use the right roster combos at the right time. If BI ever comes back from Owie Toe, you quickly see Jonas at his best. Add Z back and it’s almost unstoppable offensively and much better defensively.

I don't think I'm smart enough to get the statistical significance, other than to say that seems crazy. We must have some low usage groups that are killing it.
On Jonas, he is a stud in my book. IMO he needs to get more help at the rim from the 4 rather than trying to replace him, as some have suggested. One guy can't be your entire backline defense.

That's interesting.
I think a good part of the reasoning is injuries and shuffling of lineups on the Pel's part.
If you look at the top 10 lineups for each by minutes played, the Pels have wayyyy less minutes played at each spot in the top 10.
The Pels top 3 man lineup has played the same amount of minutes as the Nuggets 10th ranked 3 man lineup by minutes played. Plus the Pels top lineup by minutes played is about half as many minutes as the Nuggets top lineup by minutes played.

Larry/Naji/Jose have a 17.4 net rating with 199 minutes played.
Larry/Naji/Devonte have a 15.3 net rating with 238 minutes played.
CJ/BI/Herb have a 12.0 net rating with 233 minutes played.
CJ/Trey/Jose have a 11.6 net rating with 212 minutes played.
Those are our only net ratings over 10.0 among our 3 man lineups who have played over 199 minutes together.
Something else that caught my eye, in 119 minutes together, Larry/Devonte/Jose/Naji have a net rating of 30.9

Looks like Naji and Larry are a great duo when playing together. They even make Devante look good statistically.
