Brown isn't worth the supermax either. However Tatum is better than zion. Kp, white, holiday, horford While our next 4 are McCollum, Jones, Valanciunas, and Murphy..

When Ingram and Zion are leading us to the west finals every year then I’ll hand over the maxes happily.

Why am I handing a 30% max to a guy who can’t lead us to shite?

Honestly, as a Pels homer, when you put it like this it almost seems like we have the talent to compete with Boston

Good article on BI and the aftermath of the Lakers Vegas debacle.

LINK

quote:

What bothered me the most was just seeing the difference in how much guys locked in for the Lakers,” Ingram told Andscape. “You could tell the difference between regular season and them actually wanting to go after something. More than bothering me, it motivated me to be ready for whatever was coming.

quote:

Ingram scored a season-high 41 points and made 8 3-pointers, including 5 straight in the third quarter during a 138-100 blowout home win over the Toronto Raptors on Monday. He added a game-high nine assists and six rebounds in just 29:58 minutes.

According to the Pelicans, Ingram became the first player in NBA history to tally 40 points, 9 assists and zero turnovers in 30 minutes or less. Since Las Vegas, the 2020 NBA All-Star is averaging 21 points on 49.9% shooting from the field, 44.3% shooting from 3-point range, 5.9 assists and 4.8 rebounds.

quote:

“You got to give 14 the ball and let him go to work,” Pelicans forward Zion Williamson said. “He is going to make the right play whether he is shooting like that or if it is another game where he is on pace to do what he usually does. He is always going to make the right play.”

Said Pelicans guard CJ McCollum: “His ability to hit tough shots, get others involved, finish around the basket, hit 3s — it was all on display.”

quote:

“We definitely have the talent, but we got to continue to get in situations where we have to think and learn. We have to continue to get better. In the Lakers game, they have guys who have been there and leaders with LeBron and A.D. They made their teammates go. That is what we want to try to do.”

I know all of you want Zion to be the leader of this team, and so do I, but there's a reason BI is still the leader of this team over Zion, and he's getting that max extension this offseason. I still say if Zion wants to be the leader of this team, it's his for the taking. It won't be given to him. He doesnt' seem to want to do what is necessary to take it, and we aren't going anywhere until he does.
But i did really like what i heard from BI in that article.

I don't really understand this statement in relation to the quotes you added.

Nothing in the quotes you added are reasons to show that BI is the leader of this team.

The Zion quote, I'm 99% certain, was his answer to what to do specifically when BI is on a heater, not just in general.

Even the quote from BI on the IST, he basically conceded he wasn't locked in. Obviously Zion wasn't either, but I don't see how that's proof that BI is the leader when both laid an egg in that game.

I mean if that's what you want to believe, go ahead.

But BI is the leader of this team right now.
And i say that still wanting Zion to take that lead, but i think it's silly to think BI isn't the leader of this team right now.

If what is what I want to believe?

I pointed out that you made a bunch of quotes, but none of them had any relevance to who the Pels leader or, or whether BI specifically is the leader.

The 2 quotes from Zion and CJ were not about BI's leadership, it was about BI being on a heater.

I still don't get the correlation between your quotes and BI as a leader

ETA: I'd argue that CJ is the leader of this team.
