We would have picked Trey Burke with the 2013 pick instead of Noel. So we dodged that bullet.

The 2014 pick was Payton who was traded to Orlando for Saric. So we actually ended up with him anyway.

The 2015 pick was Sam Dekker.

The 2016 pick was Buddy

The 2017 pick was Zach Collins.

The 2018 pick was Chandler Hutchinson but I think Mac mentioned we would have taken someone else. Which I guess could be said for any of them.

2013 - Nerlens Noel - Just signed a minimum contract
or Trey Burke/MCW both are fringe NBA players on their way out of the league.

2014 - Probably the guy we just signed, Elfrid Payton assuming Noel in 2013, or Dario Saric if they had drafted a guard in 2013

2015 - Sam Dekker, who Houston took with our pick seems as likely as anyone

2016 - Buddy

2017 - The win now upper classman position of need pick would have been OG Anunoby, which is who I would have liked

2018 - This year I think I heard someone say the team was interested in Jacob Evans

Of that entire group there isn't a single player as good as Jrue and maybe not a single player as good as Mirotic. Building through the draft isn't just about drafting players, it's about being bad enough for long enough to hit on multiple top 10 picks. But even that is a hit or miss process, no pun intended. For every Philadelphia or OKC success there's an example of build through the draft failures like Sacramento and Orlando.

Is it not worth mentioning that Dell Demps would have been equally fricking bad even with all these draft picks? So he’s horrible at drafting with picks clearly and he’s atrocious at free agency/trades. Why does this guy still have a job? I love how everybody says oh we would have gotten shite even with our picks when in reality there have been a lot of good players that we could have gotten if we had a competent gm.

Free agency has been his weakest quality by far but the Randle signing seems like it’ll be a good one.
Please give some examples of where he’s drafted poorly or made bad trades? I think his trades have been excellent for the most part.

We probably could have done better with the Austin Rivers pick. I know we were targeting Lillard but he went 4 picks too soon. Buddy over Murray will probably look bad down the road but given that we traded Buddy for Boogie it probably doesn't matter. Not much else to judge Dell's drafting on.

The Asik trade wasn't necessarily terrible in and of itself. He gave you a lot in that 2015 playoff run. The problem was bidding against yourself in resigning him to that terrible deal.

The Tyreke signing that led to the Vazquez/Lopez trade in retrospect could be seen as a failure. If you never sign Tyreke and then give up Lopez you probably never trade for Asik and then overpay him.

Dell's definitely had his share of good moves too. The Niko trade was a steal. The Jrue trade looks good great now. And I still think the Boogie trade was a good move. If he never blows out his Achilles he 100% resigns for the max.

Traded a pick for Bayless that ended up being Tobias harris

Evans trade

Austin rivers gave us nothing

Holiday trade looks good now but first two seasons were a waste and he became the guy we hoped last year

Asik trade and signing

Ajinca

Hill

Is it time for a signature Fire Dell Demps thread?

Side question, how did we trade our pick in 2017 and 2018? I thought there was a rule preventing that, and we traded bath before the trade deadline.

The only players worth a shite we could’ve picked besides rivers were draymond green and Jae crowder. Both of them went in the second round.

The Asik trade wasn’t bad, it was the contract. Solo is another horrendous one but like I said, most of his big free agent moves have been terrible. I’ll say that his end of the bench/diamond in the rough moves for bench players have been excellent.

I wanted Murray over Buddy as well but Sacramento would’ve only traded Demarcus for buddy. The whole Demarcus thing didn’t pan out due to injury but the move itself was one you make every time.

We didn’t trade them at the same time.

We traded the 18 pick after the 17 draft which is fine to do, Stepien Rule allows that.

Hitting on picks I'm confirming its hard.

The warriors had pick 3.

Chris Washburn. Cocaine.

Warriors had pick 3.
McHale. traded for who?

Warriors had pick 6 overall. Passed on Kobe. Took some pasty white guy from wake. Out of league with the quickness.

Warriors had 15. Traded. Seattle got Shawn Kemp. Warriors got back.Alton lister two years after he could physically play. Butt muscle.

After Mitch Richmond stepped back over the line twice with the game on the line in the 7th game of 2nd round he was traded for 3 overall which was spent on a guy who tried to hit jumpers from 14 feet while on the move in any of 5 directions.
Only Elgin Baylor could do it.
Our guy from Syracuse could not shoot free throws. But he could pass. That pick was a killer.

The next one was Webber for penny and three number 1s.
They did a one year deal with webbrr and wouldn't pay for a repeat performance. He walked. Penny went to the finals and 3 number 1s went bye bye.

Bless us golden fans. We suffered long.
Sprewell strangled one of our coaches who tried to point out something in a manner spree found not sympathetic.
We got nothing for him.

I would not have done the McHale trade or the penny deal.
I would not have dealt Kemp.

But they did all that.
I had to live with it.
They dealt wilt.
