I say all this respectfully,as I am like many still dealing with the tragedy.

I hate to say this right now, but remember this post years from now. Giannis will be a Laker in the future with Anthony Davis. Which will be insane, but it all makes too much sense. Giannis deleted his social Media and respected Kobe too much and will honor him by playing for the Lakers with AD and LeBron will bow out gracefully. Those future Laker picks will be trash so the Pelicans should trade them soon.

Lakers don't have the assets to trade for him, and they won't have the cap space anytime soon to sign him.

I know your dream is to see a superteam in Lakerland, but it's not gonna happen

They are on track to win 70+ games and people want to talk about him going to that circus of an organization lol. They are only relevant again bc of Bron. Giannis doesn’t need the Lakers or AD.

He doesn't, but you can't see him paying homeage to his idol? It's like Kareem all over again.

You don't think they could shed salary? I read reports AD possibly does the LeBron Cleveland deal and take 1 year which will give them some cap space wiggle room? Restructuring of cap space is not possible for LeBron? I mean it's the Lakers, they find ways folks am I right?

This is already predicted.... LeBron will leave the Lakers when and if his son is on another NBA team. He will then land wherever he is. It is important to him to play with his son, and doubtful Bronny is able to hop on board whatever team LeBron would currently be on.

This is why his contract is currently structured the way it is.

Whether Bronny will be deserving of a top pick, watch many organizations scramble to take him so that they can have the package. Not only for winning purposes, but for marketing, and the amount of money the organization will make off the court as well. Must see TV/show.

Griffey and his pops was great to witness, but that was baseball and also during a different era. This is basketball and during the social media era it all just makes it even crazier.

Giannis + AD in LA continues the legacy that the Lakers will have of Championships yada yada....

Kareem, Wilt, Shaq, AD....entrench your Legacy as one of the great Laker Bigs AD...

I said it when AD wanted to head out West...AD is more important to the org than LeBron.

Giannis will sign the supermax this offseason, so this is all moot, but just for shits and giggles.

2021 salary cap is expected to be 125 million (earliest Giannis is a FA)

Lakers salaries:
Lebron 41 mil whether its salary or hold
AD 41 mil whether its salary or hold
Dieng 5 mil (yes they are still paying him)

Cap hold:
Kuzma 10 mil (they could renounce)

So assume they renounce Kuzma, that puts them at 38 million in cap space, which is enough to sign Giannis, HOWEVER they also have incomplete roster cap holds which will amount to around 14 million, and leaves them where AT MOST they will have 24 million in cap space, and have to fill out the rest of the roster

So unless AD or Lebron takes a 14 million dollar pay cut (not happening), or Giannis takes 14 million payout, also not happening, no they cannot shed salary to make it work

Ok cool so I'm not the only one thinking this. A Giannis and AD pairing would be terrifying, which is why I think those future Laker picks are fools gold. I would trade most of them away and try to sure up a young promising star or current all star like a Bradley Beal, Dearron Fox, or Sabonis

His son is in 9th grade. Lebron is 35 years old. He'll be 39 when his son is eligible to be drafted, and that's if he's even good enough to be drafted. I love how everyone just assumes his kid will make it to the NBA. I don't care where he lands when he's 39, as he'll be about as good as Wizards MJ at that point.
Everyone assumed the Lakers would get other FA's this offseason, since they had Lebron and AD, and still got nothing. This isn't 1970 anymore. You don't need to play for the Lakers to be a big star, and you don't need to play for the Lakers to win a championship. Giannis isn't some shoe in to go to the Lakers, despite the media just assuming that's where he'll go b/c that's where they want him to go, like with every big FA.

And AD is not taking a 1 year deal, to whoever said that earlier. That's ludicrous. He's signing a 5 year max contract, and he or anyone who tells him otherwise would be the biggest dumbass on the planet to not sign the 5 year max.

All good, I love trying to figure up NBA salary cap and future projections on how it all works..

There is one team for sure that would/could easily have the space for Giannis and it's the Pels

He will not leave Milwaukee though

You’re making a humongous reach for a pipe
