Why? So we can have 4 non perimeter shooters on the floor at once?

I honestly don’t think I could come up with a worse fit than Ben Simmons (in terms of “star” players).

No ones talking about this team, but I could see a Houston / Philly trade happening. John Wall for Ben Simmons being that majority of it with a 3rd team getting involved.

I haven’t watched much of Simmons so this is an honest question.

If we traded Simmons for Lonzo straight up, what would we be gaining/losing. What if Philly threw in a first rounder for 2022? Would that be a good trade?

TIA

It would be a terrible trade.

Simmons is a much better defender than Lonzo but a much worst shooter. Plus his salary is outrageous.

We need shooting. Simmons has taken 34 3s in his entire career...

To put it in perspective:

Zion made one less 3 in his first game than Ben has in his entire career.

Besides Wall making almost 15 million more, Philly almost traded Simmons to Houston for Harden. I don't see them now trading him to the same team for a much worse player despite how terrible Simmons just looked.

A 5th player on offense. We'd be playing 5 on 4 going forward when we have the ball.

I don’t really like Simmons that much and don’t want to trade for him; and I get his shooting troubles…

But would he better served as a point forward with a clear lane to the basket instead of a traditional 5 clogging it up? Would we be able to use him and Zion to basically split the floor and either could slash to the rim and then kick out to BI, Naw or some other shooter?

What would a starting five of Kira, Simmons, BI, Zion and Jax look like?

This is more for discussion. I think we need a winning personality on this team and he doesn’t have it. Just wondering what this would look like.

Pretty terrible, 3 guys who you don't have to worry about shooting the ball outside the paint.

Simmons needs to go to a rebuilding team

Ben will be unwanted in nba.

Too big contract to play to a rebuilding team (the rebuilding teams need flexibility, it's why Houston refused the trade) and every gm probably knows he has no serious work ethic to play in contenders teams...

Most rebuilding teams don't have a different guy making 45 mil on their team.
