I'm hearing that Morant is just disgusting defensively. Although Jrue is probably the ideal guy to pair with him considering their respective skill sets.

Still probably want Barrett

I heard Barrett is not good on defense and takes plays off

Anybody got a Barrett scouting report?

No scouting report but from the videos I’ve seen Barrett practically plays with his right hand tied behind his back. I’ve read things about him being a ball watcher when he’s not involved in a play tho, if that answers your question.

The fact that nothing can be agreed on and the glaring flaws that all the potential candidates have just outlines how much we need to convince AD to stay

People in this thread are underestimating just how incredible Ja Morant is going to be

Last time we had the #1 pick for an obvious franchise star there was another prolific scoring guard from a small school that I've always wished we could've gotten with our other pick. He went 6th. 4 teams regretted it (well, maybe the Wizards are happy with Beal but the GMs that took Kidd-Gilcrest, Dion Waiters and Thomas Robinson should have it on their gravestones). If anyone passes on Morant after Zion, they will look similarly ridiculous.

If we have the opportunity to pair Ja with Zion, you do not pass it up. I’d be thrilled if we got Ja and a few picks in later drafts for AD

Are they? Is it so unreasonable that people still prefer Zion?

Barring some kind of blockbuster three-way trade with the Knicks and Grizz you can't have both of them.

Nobody is saying Ja over Zion. We are saying if possible try and accomplish a three-team deal for the #2 pick

Agree. We are looking at two superstars at the top of this draft. I'd cream myself if we turned AD into the #2 pick and get Zion and Morant.
It would be like getting a hybrid of LeBron and Boogie paired with a hybrid of Dame and Westbrook. Unbeatable if we get shooters

You can’t simultaneously say how incredible Morant is and then the mink we have any shot to get him

What I think has no influence on what Memphis thinks. They may not value him as high. We have a shot if they value Barrett just as high as Morant.

Any way to get the #2 pick would depend on how Memphis views DSJ or Ball...

If they would take DSJ and #3 for #2, you do that quick..

Another potential deal would be Ball, Kuzma, Hill and #4 for Conley and #2 (Conley going to LAL of course).. Memphis gets two guys that fit their timeline, and they shed Conley.. Lakers get their 3rd "star" to pair with Lebron and AD
