How Much is Gary Chouest Worth? His net worth is estimated at US$ 1 billion. But some sources claim his net worth is more than US$ 7 billion.
With all that said he would have been a terrible owner!

Chouest would’ve been a terrible owner in comparison. He doesn’t have the bankroll and his business is too cyclical.

He's worth more than Gayle.
He may have been a bad owner long term but the man wanted to keep the team in Louisiana and we should be thankful for that.

Dude adopted Clarence Moore so his son could win a state title at South Lafourche. He would have adopted Shaq and Lebron and we would have rolled.

He had both of them at Hannan but the coach got fired and they all went down to South Lafourche. shite sucked.

He tried to buy the team and made every honest effort to buy the team but Shinn tried to screw him and sell above fair market value. Gary is a business man and does not mind spending money but you will not screw him. He then tried to buy in and be a part of it with Benson but Benson schnooked him and cut him out behind his back.

Gary does not and will not go to games since the deal with Benson. The man you are thinking of is Clarence Triche. He is Garys best friend. However after the BS that AD pulled Clarence said e will no longer go and gave up those seats.

Yeah, I don’t trust “superyachtfan.com” estimations. At Tidewater’s merger in 2018, the company was valued at $1.25B. It has a market cap of ~$600M today. Edison Chouest is worth a bit more, but Gary doesn’t own the company outright. Laney and Edison, Jr. have ownership too.
I seriously doubt he’s worth even $1B right now, definitely no where close to $7B. His business is too cyclical and too much of his wealth is tied up in the business.

Because they had agreed that Chouest would be a minority owner with Benson same as he was with Shinn!

In Bensons defense why have a partner or minority owner when you don’t need one.
