Yeah I mean I like Ariza and he is certainly an upgrade. It'll be nice to have a another pretty decent scorer out there for CP3 to feed. I'm not totally against this trade...just not bouncing off the walls over it. Glad to have gotten rid of that waste of space and contract posey.

You like that deal? I would think that you could get more value than Ariza.

plus we could have acquired something else in this deal like a cheap backup. lets wait to see what is finalized.

I think it was a 5 year 33 mil contract.

But like someone else said, he's DEFINITELY an upgrade from posey.

Umm, I think I like Ariz? I know I like collison and I hate posey. I think its for the best, unless we just killed our chance at Melo.

these guys are both the suck. okafor had a bad year last year but he can at least play. his contract is what makes him look so damn bad.

really not that bad, even though he's been in the league a while, I think he's only 26-27.

I don't like this deal. Not enough value in return for Collison IMO. A #1 pick in the 2011 draft also needs to be thrown in there as well.

just you all wait for the CP3/Okafor connection. Okafor is gonna slam more than a few down this year.

And we dumped Posey?

This isn't really a Posey dump so much as using DC to turn Posey into Ariza. I'm not crazy about the value here either. I like Ariza, a long, athletic defender that can rebound, finish, and hit 3s at a decent rate is exactly what we were looking for, but I was just hoping for more out of trading Collison.

Regarding Okafor, yes his contract is bad but who are we realistically going to get to replace him? Gasol is as realistic as Carmelo. Dalembert is the only guy that will both be obtainable and an upgrade over Okafor. I think there's a good chance we're stuck with Okafor and will need to find a young, athletic big to add to the mix. I think Okafor, Gray and an athletic guy could form a workable center by committee.

lets hold off until its finalized. at the worst, I think we're a better starting 5 but the guard depth is weak. At best, we got more in the deal than just Ariza.

yeah, i dont think its bad.

I think he was asked to shoulder too much of HOU scoring load last year. I dont think he'll shot 39% with a real PG as the 4th option with the Hornets

The Hornets needed a starting caliber 3. HIm playing 34 minutes a game or so is more valuable than Collison playing 15-20.

They definitely don't come out 100% on top, but its a reasonably fair trade (at this point) IMO. Who's going to play backup point now though? I feel like we're going to be in the same position we were in 07 (or 08) whenever Paul comes out of the game.

if he can shoot the three like he did at LA 2 seasons ago, then that is going to be huge. posey used to be touted as a great defender but has looked like shite since signing that big deal. ariza is much better.

key. i would have loved to have cp3/collison together for one more full season.
