We have to be one of the worst inbounding teams of all time. We have tons of turnovers on those, and rarely get good plays off afterwards.

Can someone explain to me why the strategy was have Vasquez take 25 freaking shots? Then when the game is on the line he calls Gordon's number. I mean I want EG to take the shot, he's by far our best option. But shite, he only took one shot in the second half to that point! He had no rhythm and no chance to make that play. That's now two games in a row that GV decides he is Kobe and controls the ball over 80% of the time. We will lose a lot of games this way. Tank.

Aminu finishes an easy dunk or makes a couple free throws...Hornets win.

Gordon finishes a layup...Hornets win

Get a defensive rebound over Pek...Hornets win.

There have been obvious cases of tanking. This wasn't one of them.

Bad teams find ways to lose.

Yep.

I will say that I wasn't thrilled with the rotations the last 3 or 4 minutes.

Our offense for the last two games has been Vasquez dribbles for 17 seconds, penetrates off a pick, passes, then runs to the player he just passed to and gets the ball back for a prayer at the shot clock. I know Gordon gets a lot of hate, but until he failed at the end he made good things happen with the five touches he had in the second half.

I agree that our transition offense was horrible. Aminu blew the dunk then the free throws. AD with a bad pass and Aminu with a terrible pass. Six free points we pissed away.

He made an offensive/defense sub with AD and Anderson where I would have liked to see Davis stay in, but it was only one possession and Anderson actually got a WIDE OPEN 3 that he missed. Other than that, he played the guys he had to.

Didn't watch the entire game, but Monty looked like he did a good job with the big man rotation. He's typically favored Ryno, regardless of play, but Lopez/AD outplayed him and they got more minutes (34/33 vs 25).

I know. Davis missed the defensive possession which was points for Minnesota.

I dont know why Lopez was in the game.

He did. And he actually had AD, Ryno, and Lopez in there together for a stretch of the 4th quarter with AD on AK47, Lopez on Pek and Ryno on Williams.

He played every card we had. We just blew the game with a missed dunk, missed free throws, missed layup, and a missed rebound all in about a 1:30 stretch.

The people blaming Monty for that stuff have no clue.

Vasquez is going to go from a top-five assist guy to a backup next year and anyone paying attention will understand why.

Vasquez will be a legitimately great backup. But stuff like an over and back inside 5 in a close game is the stuff that makes coaches NUTS

If the choice is Davis on the bench or Davis guarding Pekovic for a possession or two, I take my chances with Davis on the floor no matter how big the other center is.

There is just no way to make that choice make sense. It's not like Lopez is anchoring the defense- he is PnR toast every single play down the stretch.

Its the Dwight Howard argument all over again. They aren't doing it.
