The fact that Herb and his agent didn't even try to shop around really tells you he's going to be here for a long time.

Agents know that would be a really bad look and teams wouldn't help them out if they pulled that.

Pels don't decline the team option without a deal in place. If that agent goes back on his word, that's just bad for business. That's why it never happens or hasn't in like 15 years with the Boozer incident.

It’s a gamble for some players, but most of the time it will pay off and save a shitload of money.
