But we need to be in the top five in the draft. This team needs to hit on their #1 draft choice

The wins will come as they mature and gain more experience. It's a bright sign for the future. I believe we're going to see great things in the next 5 years.

Yeah I don’t really get the doom and gloom.

We just split a series with a contender and the game we lost we played them within three points until the last play.

Close losses are frustrating because unlike a blow out you are so close to taking it and so you hyper magnify and catastrophize on the small things that go wrong, but the Nuggets are flat out a better team with who I would argue is the MVP this season. Taking a game then playing them close, leading much of the game, that to me is a good sign of positive development.

I was ok with the loss yesterday, we didn't play bad we just missed some open shots. Plus Denver is good and Jokic is amazing. Dude is a legit MVP

With a bit of fine tuning and maturity... and another piece (hopefully a top 5 pick), those close games become wins... bad losses become wins.... and game we get blown out become close... and we take the next step forward.

It’s a waiting game but hope it’s in the next couple of seasons... been waiting forever!

Tbh if you’re watching this team and still melting over the final score you’ve doing it wrong.

It’s nice to win, but we are a middle of the pack team at best. Focus on the development and growth we are seeing from our young guys. Zion is a future mvp, BI is awesome despite his late game struggles this season. Kira looks great for a rookie and hayes/naw have REALLY improved in a short amount of time. We were wondering how long hayes had left in the nba the first couple months of the season. He looks great now and is getting better every game.

We aren’t good right now, but we have a great nucleus of young guys who are improving big time.

I'm not saying it's not frustrating, but people seem to be unwilling to accept youth and inexperience as a reason.

The Pels have a .409 winning percentage in clutch situations this season.

The OKC Thunder were .372 the year before they broke through from 23 wins to 50. That 50 win season they got up to .467 and won 55 games with a .667 clutch percentage the following year.

If Ingram makes that open corner 3 last night we might be having a different conversation today. But maybe missing that corner 3 is what pushes Ingram to add more catch and shoot 3 point shooting to his practice routine.

I hope the players are as mad and disappointed as the fans, because that's what it's going to take to grow.

100% agree.

And if you look at this team post Wolves they are largely playing up to probably the most optimistic of anyone’s expectations despite the frustrations at Portland. Which is they are dominating .500 and below teams, and besides the occasional off night even the best teams are having this season, are giving themselves a punchers chance against contenders and sneaking wins here and there.

Pretty much every young guy on the roster looks notably better today than they did this time last season and notably better since the start of the season.

Everything is going in the right direction. But Rome is not built in a day. But you can 100% see this squad with a few tweaks and further development becoming a perennial playoff team as soon as next season.

This is a good year not win if there ever was one:

Abnormal/condensed offseason
Limited fans
1st year HC
Western Conference still stacked
Essentially rookie year Zion
NAW, Jax, Kira still young
Loaded draft class this year
No pressure to reach at the trade deadline

I’m not even going to be mad if we run this roster mostly back for next season. Another full summer of development for lonzo (assuming we keep him on a fair deal), hayes, naw kira and zion etc. maybe get Hart more work with vinson. We can absolutely be a playoff team next year with another year of chemistry building and normal progression from our young guys.

What would be huge for us is if hayes can really put the work in to supplant adams as the starter and give us a solid 25-30 minutes per game.

After next season we can easily get rid of bledsoe and hopefully find another contributor in the draft. At this point I like what I’m seeing out of the young guys I don’t want to move any of them unless it’s a no brainer superstar type trade.

Me either, as long as we actually draft a few guys this year. We now have four picks, and we should actually use at least three of them, IMO (unless we bring Didi in). I want us to be developing at least three rookies next season.

We can debate where our own pick is going to be, but the 2nds we have from Cleveland and Washington are both going to be very near the top of the round, and the Dallas pick might be in the middle of the round.

I'm with you guys all the way. I see this team improving each game, and the youngsters including Hayes will learn to win the close games next year. Hayes improvement has everyone feeling better for the future. Glad they didn't trade Lonzo, and hoping they hit a homerun in the draft. Maybe Didi is a defensive dog we need off the bench. We'll see.
