Normal injuries don't keep bothering you after two years

Cleared up? He still can't play two nights in a row

I tell you what, if he's still having his knee issues 2 years after the injury happened, then I'll lead the trade Gordon group myself.

Its pretty much been two years

I love the Hornets/Pelicans, not Eric Gordon. He would help the Hornets/Pelicans a great deal in their efforts to build a contender once he gets healthy. High risk, high reward.

Exactly. He's awesome except for when he misses or plays way under his paycheck 75% of the season because he's hurt or working back into form.

FIFY

And I have pretty much given up on that happening at this point

My biggest faith in the Pelicans future is the boy with the brow. Ship Gordon's arse out of here.

The injury happened basically two whole seasons ago

TWO frickING SEASONS

How long are you seriously going to use the "he's hurt" or "he's rusty" excuses

If what we heard was true, then he wasn't treated properly for his injury the first time and that led to it getting worse before this year. He visited a specialist who was able to provide a better rehab plan for him and he hasn't had any knee issues yet.

The team as well as Gordon have said that it's purely precautionary and part of the rehab program. His health is not what's keeping him out of those games right now.

Last season started later than normal. He was hurt December of 2011 and played again December of 2012.

He also tried out for Team USA and got cut. Thug POS

Probably jealous of Davis making the squad without even playing a game in the NBA

There's no doubt who the captain of the Pelicans Ship is.

Well that wrong treatment apparently didn't matter to him when he was trying out for the Olympic team

Is playing every game to prove to the team that he's worth it important right now? Because it is to me

I definitely don't know enough to explain what happened to him, so I just go by what I read and infer. He could've been forcing himself to play through pain because he really wanted to get to play on the team. I can't say anything for sure.

I'm sure everyone would like to see him play every game, but the future of this team is more important than the present. If he has to miss a handful of games on a strict rehab program in order to preserve his health when we have a legit talented team, then so be it.

Exactly

But that's a two sided argument

How do we know if he's worth it to the future of our team if we don't know what he can do in the present?

Fair enough argument. That's the biggest issue with him being on the team right now: Is it worth it to keep him on the chance that he can start staying healthy and put up 20+ PPG on better percentages? I'm obviously of the mentality that it's worth taking the risk since we're many years away from title contenders anyway unless we hit it rich in the lottery ala OKC. It's understandable why others would feel differently. I just don't want to settle for a shitty deal where we get role players out of it due to Gordon's low trade value. Having a bunch of role players puts you in Houston's spot over the past few years: perennial 6-8 seed with no chance at a legit lottery pick and no chance at a title.

i think his knee issues over over 2 straight years are pretty indicative of a chronic issue

he won't have any value by that point

yeah we're going to get shitty eric gordon for another year (b/c we won't contend next year)...so we've already paid him 2 full max-level years...for what? a constantly injured guy who can't even play 2 games in a row and missed 1.5 of 2 seasons?

The good news is that at that point, we'll already be halfway through his shitty contract

Exactly

It has to happen now, when we can still trick teams into thinking he isn't damaged goods. Another season and it will become obvious.

Trade with some borderline contending team that needs a solid 2 guard (Jazz, Celtics, Bulls, Grizzlies come to mind) and might be willing to give up some solid pieces for him

Some team desperate to win now might take a chance on him.

A GM with a big ego would think he could be the guy to make him not be a pouty bitch and actually live up to his potential, and boom, we have a solid rotation guy or two and maybe a decent late 1st pick.

A lot better than some mediocre SG who pouts all the time and is getting paid a ridiculous amount of money to be average

That's all well and good but i don't think it'll happen in the offseason.

I'm thinking next trade deadline
