Team from Utah got a bunch of offensive rebounds, seems like we give up a bunch. JV, Z, BI don’t seem to box out.

On a couple late in the fourth, BI flew by the shooter and both times the ball came off the rim long directly to the shooter.

Defensive rebounding has a lot to do with effort and fundamentals. Gotta know where your guy is when the ball goes in the air and get an arse on him.

Some of it was boxing out, but Utahs 3s were so badly missed its really hard to tell where they'll end up

I'd have to watch those again, I do recall both plays. But as I recall it, BI was flying out to contest a Lauri 3, which obviously is what you need to do on a shooter like that. Can't really blame BI there.

this. While most teams the guards run back when the shot goes up, Utah doesn’t all five players rebound

I think the biggest issue is that both Herb and Trey are mediocre rebounders. If they at least average at their positions, we would be in much better shape.

Yea, we're league average in defensive rebounding as a team.

We have 1 awesome dude in Jval then down the line, a bunch of below average dudes. Hell, doing it on a position basis solely, CJ may be the 2nd best rebounder in the starting lineup related to his position.

Not every team starts 3 players that are 7 feet tall.

Agreed. They were late contests and with the way the refs love to call that chicken shite crap where the defender might come down near the shooters landing area, you almost have to fly by to the side of the shooter to avoid giving up three foul shots. That eliminates any chance to block out. Now why they were late contests and whose fault that was I don’t really recall.
