Having our picks also allows us to move forward or back in the draft to pick our needs. A lot of people are overlooking that aspect.

Like who?

Once we got rid of our picks we literally could make no moves in the draft. So who's to say we wouldn't have moved up in the draft to get an elite player that better fit our needs

No one was giving up Wiggins/Parker etc.

That's pretty much my point. I don't think those picks would have gotten us anyone that would've been an upgrade over our current roster.

I preface this post with admitting that my basketball knowledge is limited.

I don't think Jrue is a perrenial All Star. I think he is one of those "B" players.

I do think AD will be top 5 by the end of the season, barring injury, and a legit super star. He is amazing, hard working, and hungry. This kid is still developing and growing into his frame.

Reke has the chance to develop into a perrenial All Star. He gets to the cup at will and plays above average D. If he can develop a legit corner 3, he will be our second guy.

Ryno is a top stretch 4, and I still contend that he would be adequate in the "Peja" role. He is clutch, has a great shot, and can rebound. He isn't going to dazzle you with athleticism, but he spreads the floor nicely and place sound, team ball.

Asik is the deal. We have a legit top 10 C and if you doubt it, let's revisit this thread after the season. He isn't gonna throw up 25 ppg, but he is going to rebound and make the paint a very difficult place for other teams to operate.

Baby Doc is developing and we have seen significant progress. He works hard and hustles, plays really good D. If he can get his FT% to the low 70s and finish with a tad more consistency, I believe he is a 16ppg, guy who can play both the 1 and 2.

Sandy is a douche and I hope he catches on fire.

Anjinca is a big body who needs to cut down on fouls. If he just did that, his presence around the rim will protect our second unit.

Did I mention Sandy is a cancer and I just want him off the team?

I would love to punch everyone who calls him Sandy in the face. For fricks sake, at least come up with something clever.

Yeah, I'm having a bad day

I mean, at least it's a strong name, it really shows you hate him. But Sandy just doesn't bring that luster.

I think he brought the luster.

And reading this thread, I actually have to say that I'm impressed with who we have so far in only a few years.
It reminds me of what Chicago was doing when they started stockpiling talent. Then they landed their star in the draft. We just landed our star then started stockpiling talent.

Just a thought.

Considering Miami is not a big market, I'd say them.

Miami is a pretty big market. As of last year the only teams in a bigger metro area are:

NYC
LA
Chicago
Dallas
Houston
Philly
DC

And the only ones that beat Miami by more than 1,000,000 people are NYC, LA, and Chicago.
