completely agree with the OP. If Dell doesn't trade for Jrue and Reke this team is a long way off from contending.

Hindsight I would have probably taken those two picks instead of Holiday

But that shite happened, so deal with it people

If you want to blame someone, blame Benson for being old

IF we had the 2 picks who would you have taken?

Well let's say we don't have Holiday so some of those wins we had with him didn't happen, so the 2014 pick is like in the 5-8 range instead of 10

From what I know now?

MCW and McDermott

At the time?

Burke and...well probably McDermott agian

I like McDermott a lot but just not sold on a combo of McDermott and MCW/Burke being better than having Jrue and finding a SF later.

We needed a PG, and he was the best one in that draft

And yea a 6'6" 22 y/o rookie of the year PG that put up 17/6/6 and a 16 PER his first season

Yea he sucks

I don't want to get into this, but based on what exactly? Half a season that Holiday was all-star quality?

You know that line of reasoning is the same thing that got Gordon a five year max deal on this team

Easier to put those numbers in that Tanking team, I would have taken Burke before him.

this entire thread is fears fault for using the word "superstar"

idiot
yeah I probably should've said star instead. I didn't mean superstar as in LBJ/Durant type players. if AD reaches his potential players will want to come here beside him if we have shown we are close to being a contender. mack just wants us all to be as miserable as him. sorry for poo pooing this thread. wasn't my intention

Yea we really weren't a hell of a lot better last year tbh. And we weren't even trying to tank.

MCW is boom or bust. He's either going figure out how to be effective without shooting well a la Rondo and Wall, or he's a backup.

Yep, and that's why people who didn't watch us think Roberts is a fine player. Like I said, easier to put good numbers in a bad team.

I see what you're saying, but I don't think anyone has ever said that Roberts is a fine player

Most Bobcats fans seems to be very happy about that signing.
And it was the same with Vasquez just because he was 3rd in assists.

I never said he sucks. He put up good numbers on a terrible team. I personally don't think MCW will develop into a better PG than Jrue but that's my opinion and not a knock on MCW.

Having our picks also allows us to move forward or back in the draft to pick our needs. A lot of people are overlooking that aspect. Once we got rid of our picks we literally could make no moves in the draft. So who's to say we wouldn't have moved up in the draft to get an elite player that better fit our needs. Then sign tyreke in the off-season and let him drop those near triple doubles at point.

A lot more than that line of reasoning factored into Gordon getting a max deal.
