Dinwiddie and Schroeder both opted out of contracts over 21 mil a year

20 million us definitely an overpay for him,
I think ive accepted that the only bad overpays in the NBA are either
1)highly played players that are actively bad for your team
2)MAX guys who arent close to being MAX guys.

Dont know enough to know if this is possible cap wise, but I would love those moves.

Being realistic though, I think we should be looking at Buddy as well. Kings are definitely going to look to move him, and we could possibly even pick up Bagley at the same time.

Adding Bagley + Buddy + Lowry gets you real close to the tax line I think.

What am I missing with Dinwiddie? Coming off an injury and not really a good shooter

Not really, but we could use another option at the 4/5, and you can flip him at the deadline if he hasn’t shown he can be productive.
This is also assuming we have a large enough exception to include them both, if not we can just take Buddy and use our MLE on someone like Otto Porter.

I like the idea of adding Buddy as well. The rumored trade to Lakers seemed really steep though. Wouldn’t mind taking back some assets for a Lonzo S&T and diverting them to SAC for Buddy.

Lonzo is just getting started, has huge upside potential and is better in a full court attack offense. If the Pels are going to slow down and play half court then maybe, Lonzo is not as valuable.

If we get Lowry, then I just can't imagine that we bring back Lonzo. We'll have enough guards, and I honestly thing that NAW will be a better player for a lot less money. For leadership and locker-room purposes, we'll bring back Hart, and we'll spend $5-9 million on a backup power forward with the MLE to stay right under the tax.

These are likely all too low. I think Paul, Lowry, Conley and Ball surpass those numbers.

I would rather roll with Lonzo (and I hate lonzo) and Lewis than give up assets and big money for Lowry. He’s not Chris Paul and never has been.
Great leader (once he got his head screwed on straight) but does not impact the floor like the other guys do
Kyle Lowry The Little Thing King
A fair analysis of Lowry in the link above.
Keep in mind, he’ll play a lot more off ball than he did in Toronto.

Chris Paul $30 - 35 million
Kyle Lowry $22-24 mill
Mike Conley $20-22 mill
Lonzo Ball $ 18-20 mill
S. Dinwiddie $ 18-20 mill
D. Schroder $ 16-18 mill
CP3, Lowry, Conley - all win on every team theyre on. Established vets who can teach our guys, and still give high production and spacing. CP3 - 16/9, Lowry - 17/7, Conley 16/6 LAST season.
Ball, Dinwiddie, Schroeder - have not really been established as winners at all. And if they matched the above numbers for CP3, Lowry, Conley, it would basically be a career year that is way above their career averages. LB - 14/6, SD - 20/7 (on a bad team), and Schroeder - 15/6 last season.
Simply put - we need one of these old guys. See Phoenix.
Simply put- we also may need one of these young guys.

Seeing how Charlotte just drafted Bouknight and he got #5. Malik Monk should be a free agent this year also. I don’t mind having him run the bench with Lewis. That would be a fun duo to watch.
A 56% 3p corner shooter is something you can’t go wrong with especially on an extremely cheap contract.
Covid, motivation and being out of shape really messed up his stock. But if you give him minutes and have a great motivator in Willie Green, I can see him become a Cam Payne for us

Not sure I understand what #5 has to do with it. Doesn't Monk wear #1?
Posted on 7/30/21 at 5:07 pm to NOSHAU
Supposedly he gave up #1 to Lamelo to wear his college jersey # which is #5.
Plus I don’t think Charlotte will offer him the qualifying offer with so many guards on the team.
