Who did I overvalue, outside of Courtney Lee, who I stated was probably a stretch?

Half of those players you listed are not available. He's a sg, not a g/f, so the defensive side of some of those players make no sense. If you were to replace him with another sg, the only two available are Butler and Matthews.

Can Martell Webster play 2?

Danny Green
DeMarre Carroll
Joe Johnson (no thanks)
Gerald Henderson
Harrison Barnes
Jamal Crawford
Courtney Lee (maybe a stretch but I don't think Gordon is much better)
Khris Middleton
Dion Waiters

The team needs a SF more than a SG anyway. All players listed are either free agents this off season or next.

If you don't think the majority of those players could put up similar production as Gordon, then I don't know what to tell you.

Danny Green - typical spurs guy- prob wouldnt have the same success any where else
DeMarre Carroll- not as talented as gordon and not a SG
Joe Johnson (no thanks) not available and bad fit
Gerald Henderson - not as good a player as gordon
Harrison Barnes - hes a 3?
Jamal Crawford - obviously an amazing scorer offers nothing on D
Courtney Lee - come on?
Khris Middleton - no defense and hes a 3
Dion Waiters - no defense ball hogging chucker

You guys are overrating Gordon. Last season was his best season here. He scored 15.4 ppg (14th among SGs), shot 43.6% from the field (15th among SGs), and 39.1% from 3 (19th among SGs). He's an average player at probably the weakest position in the NBA.
ETA: not to mention that he's going to miss ~20 games every season.

It's more than stats. I said if he proves he can stay healthy I'd resign him at the right price. He legit is the only player that has on court chemistry with AD. EG has been deadly when working the 2 man game with AD since he came back from injury.

1) Gordon still has a lot to prove regarding his durability and anyone wanting to give him an opt out extension this offseason is taking a huge risk.
2) When healthy Gordon is a 2 way starting caliber player. A healthy Gordon would indeed be difficult to replace, especially if the cap space situation were such that keeping Gordon also meant keeing the $5 MLE rather than signing a SG and just having the $2.7 RLE.
We need to let this play out more before we know which answer is right. And if we're lucky the right deal will come along when Gordon is expiring and spare us from having to decide.

I've said I'd be fine with 6-7mil per year, I don't think he'd agree to that.
Also, he's played more than 66 games (80% of the season) once in his entire career and that was his rookie season. IMO a healthy Gordon is worth 8-9mil per season, offer him 80% of that (6-7mil) and it would be fair.

Dion Waiters for starters.

We also shut him down late last season because playoffs were impossible.
You give us a list and you don't even consider half of those players would make a lot more than Gordon would on the open market.
Half of those players you can't compare because they play two different positions.
And some just make no sense: Lance Stephenson, Courtney Lee, Khris Middleton, Dion Waiters (no defense), DeMarre Carroll, etc.
Overrating him is saying he's a top 5 SG. Everyone said if he can stay healthy and play like he's been, he's above average at a position that this league is lacking in.

Or maybe you are underrating him.

He's not above average, which was my original point. The whole point of this back and forth was that I said he was average and there were 20+ players that could put up his production. I didn't even say that there were 20 available players, I just said 20 players. The whole point was that he's an average player. You frickers are dense.

And you provide a list consisting of some players who were better, some who weren't, and some who played entirely different positions. The conversation is clearly about replacing him, so you're being "fricking dense" to find a bunch of players that will not be available. Want to go ahead and add MJ and Magic to your list?

Jester I know you love arguing for the sake of arguing, but do you really believe that replacing Gordon with a SF makes no sense?

Not unless you really think Tyreke is a starting SG next to Jrue, which I do not.
