Don’t lose Rondo

Here’s to hoping we don’t screw around and lose rondo..he was absolutely instrumental in our success down the stretch along with leadership.
I’m not sure how much is “too much” for his services but I believe it would be a massive blow to lose him.
Much bigger lose than most people realize. That dude can dish, drive, score, and run the show.
Gotta have him.

We only have 2 possible offers to Rondo, which depend on if we re-sign Boogie or not and what exception we have to offer. If we re-sign Boogie, we can only offer the tax payer mid level exception of $5.3 million. If we don’t re-sign Boogie, we can offer the regular mid level exception of $8.6 million.

A 3rd possibility and the most likely initial offer is a 20% raise to $4 million.

You are correct. He has that offer on the table right now. Not an offer that involves an exception. Now, they could miss on some other targets and come back to Rondo with a higher offer. But thats not on the table right now

Was just coming to post the raise possibility.
Obviously that’s the ideal scenario. Still would have the TPMLE to improve the team in a depressed market.

Any idea on how many years we're offering? Given his age, I figure most teams won't be offering more than 2 years. If someone else offers more than the 20% raise, maaybe a 3rd or 4th year might be enough to convince him to stay and allow us to keep the MLE/TPMLE. Not sure that the Pels would want to do that, though.

He’s mentioned Joe Harris and GR3 as possibilities, as well as a mystery PG/Combo Guard they plan on meeting with at 12:01.
