This is some non-sensical drivel.

You have a better chance at having the winning numbers by having the most numbers.

It's harder to win the lottery now, sure, but to make the argument that you're better off not worrying about tanking because it's all luck is a wild take.

Top 10 and top 3 aren't the same thing. We need to pick top 3.

The last few lottery winners all had records with them picking in the 5-10 range, just because we don’t have a top 3 worst record doesn’t mean we’re not picking top 3.

Also like I said, if they’re healthy you have to play them, the league will force it.

We have to trade BI. We can’t let him leave for nothing, would be a disaster.

Welcome to the disaster. We will get nothing for BI. He has zero value at this point in his career given his future salary.

And yet those extra chances won’t matter for many teams. Last lottery 1, 3 and 4 dropped to 5, 6, and 7. 2 stayed at 2. What I said was not nonsense, it was recognition of the seeming disconnect between fan beliefs about lottery odds and the results we see.

Best/Better Odds =/= Good Odds

Umm . Cos Zions contract literally puts him at risk of being cut if he doesn’t play .

If griff tells Zion to fake an injury and not play when his fully healthy and not in the best interest of Zion then griff could be fined big time and lose his job . Pretty simple

You’re not disproving him at all

On average, the team that has the most balls wins a top 3 pick. If it plays out long enough, that’s exactly what will happen. Sure there are outliers. There’s outliers in every system, especially in a lottery.

You saying we have just as good of a chance to hit top 3 if we finish outside the top 5 is just fricking lunacy

It’s not lunacy, it’s math. The Field has better odds than any individual slot. And I’m not anti tank. I just think some of you guys are overly positive about the correlation of the odds with a sample size of 1 lottery drawing. Sure, over time you’ll see the top 4 win more than the other slots, but in one drawing anything can happen.

No shite, but your logic is still way the frick off.

Before the balls are drawn everyone is part of the field, but some in the field have more chances than others.

To quote you... it's math.

And all I’m saying is they aren’t good odds. As the current worst team the Pels have a 47.9% chance at finishing 5th. 1-4 vs 5 is practically a coin flip for the worst team.

But it's better than anyone else... and everyone else is competing against the field as well.

It's really not that hard of a concept.

has this ever worked? I feel like more times than not value doesn’t improve much and we just hurt our already good pick opportunity in a good draft
