quote:

a big ball of hoping LAL was that toxic exclusively

In almost every divorce, both parties are really at fault in different ways, even if they don't admit it.

Not only from a basketball standpoint, but also from the standpoint of the culture that David Griffin is building here, it's hard to know at this point if Ball and Ingram are going to fit in long term. If I had to bet, I'd bet that one of them doesn't and ends up getting shipped out later this year.

I see it differently, as I actually see all 3 pieces from the Laker's being long term, maybe it's just hope but it fits.
Ball- just needed to get away from LA and with Jrue's personality and play style I think the influence and development will surprise most
Ingram- in a perfect spot as this franchise has been desperate for a 3 that can do anything and surrounded by fellow Duke guys, and in a city that is quite frankly perfect for what he needs, weight...
Hart- has already shown that he fits the organization perfectly as well as the city, and he fits perfectly with the current NBA

Yea, as far as overall assets and asset ceiling.

1 Pelicans
2 Atalanta
OKC (But after they trade Westbrook theyd be 2)

Pelicans are actually probably tied with Atlanta in terms of "Young Assets" and upside; John Collins, Trae Young, Hunter, Cam Reddish, Huerter, Fernando But our pick collection atm is more valuable. But Lonzo and Ingram have more experience and the most immediate upside, plus we got zion so that gives us the edge.

OKC has picks out the A** but the only true young players really are Shai, Diallo, T Ferguson which doesnt come close to the Pels or Hawks. But depending on what happens with westbrook they could move up

All I know is the Pelicans are fricking loaded with promising young players and rookies. It is a good time to enjoy being a Pelicans fan. Anything is possible!

Memphis has 8 guys 23 or younger projected in their 2 deep right now. Morant, Melton, Brooks, Dorsey, Allen, Clarke, Jackson and Jackson. That should be top 3, especially ahead of OKC..

I love the Pelicans young core

Zion -Reminds me of a combo of Barkley and Rose WOW! Ferrari in a Hummer body ... forget his athleticism, his feet are amazing ... love how Griff is allowing him to develop w/o a whole lot of external pressure.
Naw - Really surprised at his vision and ambidexterity, smooth version of Zo.
Hayes - Going to be a monster, Athletically gifted (Football genes) with great hands. Might be one of the fastest big men in the league right now.
Zo - Just a savant on the court even with poor shooting, He's like an NBA version of Gretzky .. would lead the league in hockey-assists). hyper-kinetic and disruptive on the defensive side of the ball ... he and Jrue are going to be problems for the league defensively
Hart - Versatile and strong all-around player (can guard 1-4), does a little bit of everything.
Ingram - Smooth bucket getter (can get 20-25 so easy), shocking handles for a player his size, plays the game the right way (looks to play-make for others)

Yeah, I wouldn’t say Hart could guard the 4 given he got abused there last season.

Throw out post Christmas tape on Hart, he was on one wheel. Before injury he handled stretch 4s well, particularly on switches. Asking him to match straight up with big 4/5s, I agree, was outside his pay grade.

Good point as far as young assets, they got 2 guys with star potential. OKC got 1 with Shai, so overall assets after the george trade just say call it even. But if/when they trade westbrook ill still go with OKC. I mean honestly you could put Pheonix right there in the convo as well though. Booker, Ayton, Bridges, Okobo, Oubre, cam Johnson. But if we going by the brightest future and present Its Pels bc of veterans and young talent and picks, then Atlanta bc young talent, then Memphis bc of young talent, and Okc bc of a young talent and a plethora of picks with more assets likely on the way in after westbrook

I know we are supposed to be in an era of 'positionless' basketball but I believe what puts NOLA over the top is the depth by the diversity of the group. Can legit play these young men at 2-3 positions each for extended periods.

PG - Zo, NAW, Jackson, BI
SG - Hart, NAW, Jackson, Zo, BI
SF - BI, Zion, Hart, NAW
PF - Zion, Hayes, Jah
C - Jah, Zion, Hayes

Lonzo can gaurd 1-3 and probably some 4. Idk why you just have him gaurding pg. Also Ingram can gaurd 4 as well. This isnt even including Jrue who can gaurd 1-3. Damn
