Throw out anyone with Klutch. Red flag.

Yep, would hate to end up with a Darius Garland or something, would really suck for the Pels if we got a guy like him. A real Klutch POS. Willing to take less money on his first extension just to help the organization keep/sign other players…

I agree you can't completely rule someone out just because they signed with Klutch, but I also agree with the OP that it is a red flag.

But if you like the kid and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders, you can't pass on him for that reason alone.

Exactly. If you have two guys you like and they’re close, go with the non Klutch every time.

Hell, I’d personally just black ball them. I don’t give a shite about garland. Plenty of non klutch guys.

A red flag is one thing, throwing them out entirely is another. There is very little connection between a 19-20 year old's character or potential and the agency they sign with.

Klutch's main problem is incompetence, and, if you are on Lebron's team, nepotism. But incompetence is not unique to Klutch. I mean currently BI/CJ/Green are rumored to have been having conversations with Zion about switching agencies cause the sense is that he is getting bad advice and potentially hurting his personal brand and earnings potential.

Frankly, this organization has more to be pissed about with CAA than anything Klutch has done in the Griff era. Since it has been CAA affiliated people that have been rumored to have stoked the fires of Zion demanding out/playing out his QO/ghosting team staff etc. Turning the Redick situation last season into a major story via their people at ESPN.

Yet, I wouldn't advocate blackballing a prospect that signs with CAA, cause that would be silly to blackball an entire agency in general, but specifically because of one indirect, non actual basketball choice if all the other boxes are checked off.

I don't understand why players need an agent. Just build a team with a lawyer, accountant and a marketing manager. You don't need an agency to negotiate a max deal. Lots of players negotiate for themselves. Save that 5%..

You realize that the same reasoning you just gave about sports agents applies lawyers, accountants, and marketing right? The player should just do his own taxes and save a couple thousand. Who needs professional advice when making million dollar decisions?

Take a moment to recognize that the ONLY reason we have the #8 pick is because Klutch forced a shitty roster on the Lakers.
