Has anyone actually watched Graham play in games, not his highlights? His shooting looks good in the highlights, but his percentages outside of 3 and FTs are bad. Does he just have horrible shot selection?

His FG% is extremely misleading. He’s taking 9 of 12 shots from three. His mid range game is much more about passing, as he just doesn’t take a lot of mid range shots. He sets people up and shoots from deep.

It is what it is….we gave up compensation to make our team better and at a reasonable salary.

no one else has to do this when signing a role player FA to a 4/$47M contract.

Whatever. Griffin is like the husband who waits till 5:45 to walk in the store Christmas Eve and buy a present for his wife. He's got to take what they have whatever the price.

I like the trade too but “Zion and Zo” are buddies argument seems to be more important than basketball sense.

It's def a trade. it's a sign and TRADE. We got better with the acquisition of Graham.

What would you have tried doing exactly? We went after plenty of guys, they wanted to go elsewhere for less money.

Believe nothing your hear and only half of what you see. More is still to come, when the trades become official the path will become a little more clearer. I get it, it’s the way of the world we all want instant gratification but be patient we’re building something special.

Theoretically speaking this team shouldn’t be looking to find an immediate contributor from the draft for quite some time. We’re moving in to the next phase, which is to compete with this core and build around their talents with established basketball players, and not necessarily a disgruntled superstar.

This method calls for a lot of internal growth. The players that remain on this roster and those we’ve acquired this off-season all have niche skill sets. We’ve built a nice prime over the last two years, post Anthony Davis-Holiday era. Now it’s time to mash the gas on the Williamson-Ingram era.

To wrap this up, last year we hoped we’d win some games. This year we expect to win games or heads roll. 50 wins seems like a stretch goal but 45 is floor.

I understand that. but the trade aspect of it should have been an afterthought, meaning a worthless 2nd or two, and only done so that charlotte gets the TPE, just like every S&T not involving a near max player that has happened in the past.

I already said you offer them 2 2nds and make them match it. If they don't, then you give Kendrick Nunn 2/$20. I seriously doubt he gives up $10M to play for the Lakers. If that doesn't work, you bring in Dragic. If that doesn't work, go get a Beverly, and you probably could have gotten Keon Johnson by taking him without sending back salary. If that doesn't work, look for some other veteran on a 1 year deal. If that doesn't work, then make a serious trade for a serious player, like Brogdon or Sexton.
This was a role player we went get. Yes he can make a difference on this team and help us win more, but there were other guys out there that we could have gotten to fill that role, and the fact that we just signed a PG to a 4 year deal says a lot about what they think about Kira, b/c they obviously don't see him being a serious contributor anytime soon.
