So, tell me what exact strategy of Erman's you disagree with. What he has told the players that is wrong and you think he should say instead. Dying to know the specifics.

Obviously he's failing to communicate to the guys that they need to stop the other team from scoring as much.

So you thought that last nights defensive performance was up to par? Better yet, the entire season?

Given that I’m not in the locker it's gonna be hard for me to do that. So, that’s a stupid question. If you watched the game it was very apparent that the guys were not sticking to their defensive assignments. At this level you have to expect guys are going to get open shots. With that said, the team looked confused and totally lacked effort. Lastly, there were countless instances where the defense just simply stopped moving with their assigned player and allowed uncontested shots. That my friend is poor coaching.

When people complained about Monty they often had specifics like why are the bigs defending so far away from the basket? I’m not saying this staff is above reproach, but I don’t understand how with the last regime complaints were so specific and with this one it’s just They Suck! Fire Coaches! Rabble Rabble!

Problem has always been effort. The Pelicans rarely defend for 4 quarters. They only start once they get punched in the mouth. By that time they’re down 15+ Points. The scapegoat is always because the other team was hot.

Effort is part of the equation but I see a more fundamental problem. Jrue is just about the only perimeter defender capable of staying in front of an attacking guard. Everyone else is either too slow or too small. Part of why I think they're missing Payton is as much defense as it is his offense and limiting turnovers.

for the Pels to be last in the league on defense, obviousle there are a few things wrong, coaching-wise and lack of player skills wise; most of the players lack quick feet and speed

I'm not sure how specific you want to be, but I wasn't being specific to the play because there were too many to cover.

Obviously a fan does not have access to that information, so that is irrelevant. It is not crazy for someone having an opinion based on results.

If your opinion is based on results, then your theory has to be that Erman was smart last year and was a good coach, but magically he forgot everything he knows and is a dummy now.

If you are calling for a man's job, at least have SOME specifics. It would be like if I looked at the sales at the Burger King that the OP works at and called for him to get fired without cutting any specific reasons why.

And the whole time, he was the best toilet bowl cleaner in the company, but the real reason that BK sucked is because Tommy was awful on fries

There's a reason why multiple NBA teams fire their coaches of the year winners. Yes the guy might be solid at what he does but in a result based business he's not getting the results needed. Maybe someone else can get the job done but it's obvious this season it's not him.

One specific that I have disagreed with is doubling guy with the ball off screens. This seems to lead to a lot of open 3s or baskets. I have noticed lots of team have made the screen guy a good 3 point shooter. This helps them to roll to the basket or just pop out for a 3.

Let me clarify, this is not my opinion. I am just supporting the poster's right to have an opinion. If a salesman does not sell, he gets canned. It is about results. Coaches get fired all the time without fans having concrete proof as to why they should have been canned. The professional sports game is about results. If the OP feels that the coaches are not getting the results based on what they are getting paid to do, it is the OPs perogative to have an opinion on that.

I think the Pels were middle of the pack defensively last year and near the bottom this year. Is that not an indication that the results have gotten worse? If a head coach goes to the playoffs in his first year and has a terrible team the next year, does that mean he is now a dummy? Should the team not fire him based on the fact that he had some level of success in the past?

So we're firing coaches because we have to run out Tim Frazier and Ian clark for several minutes?

In a guard league, if you are awful at individual defense at that position, you will get mauled.

Ian Clark and Tim Frazier are bad. Rondo wasn't much better, but he had guys talking more out there.
