All the confidence in the Pels tanking chances reminds me of all the confidence in the Pels playoff chances.

Wait until the east coast stretch. No way that losing streak continues with AD, Gordon, and Tyreke. we're going to go on a winning streak soon and every tanker is going to have a meltdown.

If we somehow manage to keep our 2014 first round pick, do we then lose our 2015 first rounder (assuming we finish above bottom 5 next season) ??

Was reading that on the 6ers forum.. Pick is Top 5 protected from 2014-2019.. but that was the first I had heard of it...

If that's true, even if we're only 6-8 worst, Philly may not want to risk cashing in the pick and then us get lucky in the lottery.. Or is that not how it works?

The good news is our biggest concern is top 5 while other teams are obsessed with the first pick. If we secure a top 5 we will be playing with house money in this deep draft.

I'm not impressed yet from what I've seen. Some decent players, but . . .

A top 5 of Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Joel Embiid, Marcus Smart, and Julius Randle isn't impressive to you?

I could see us winning 6 of the next 7 games and possibly 9 or 10 or the 13 left before the All-Star Game.

On a NBA D-league note, Manny Harris the leading scorer in the D League was called up to the Lakers last week.

PJ, coming off an injury had 18pts and 9 assists, on 28% shooting is his last game Saturday.

Certainly not as much as the absurd amount of hype they've received. Especially before the season started. Parker and Embiid have been the most impressive out of the bunch, imo.

Let me say this, I would not be surprised if, out of the top five players drafted, there are a couple of disappointments. I think the strength of this class may have been overstated (although its depth may be little better than usual).

Who knows, though? I think we'll know more by tourney time.

Demps already answered no to that when trading for Jrue. The problem is we are tanking without trying. If I asked you would you throw away 20 wins for a shot at those guys you and most people here would answer no. If I asked you would you throw away 5 wins for a shot at those guys, what would you answer? We're talking starter level talent this year vs. rotation level talent next year. I'm still doubtful we have what it takes to tank properly, but if the losses continue on our upcoming trip through the East Coast, I'd throw another 5 wins on the dumpster fire to keep the pick.
