I know we still have a lot of the season remaining, but just for fun i was thinking about the nba draft and looking at some potential prospects for the Pels. Kispert is 6'7 sf who stayed in college 4 years, would be a nice pick in the 1st round and i think he is nba ready.
This guy can shoot the lights out and would be great off the bench to spell BI with the 2nd unit.
I think we need a sf and pf to help take some of the pressure off of Zion and BI. We will also have 2 very high 2nd round picks, where we can take a chance on a pf.

Might be a nice Brandon Clarksey type pick that falls to the late lotto to early 20’s, due to age.

I wouldn’t mind it at all. We’ve got some young developmental bucks and they are coming along nicely, but I don’t have anything against a 22 or 23 tear old that can come in and fill a nice role right away.

Unfortunately he’s not falling into the 20’s. Right now he’s mocked between 8-12.

If anything I think he’s gonna go higher than people expect. So it might push him out of our range.

A 6’7 JJ Redick esque shooter that can hold his own defensively better than people often think is a guy that isn’t falling to 20.

He is my dream pick unless we get lucky and ended up in the top 5. Really good size that i think he fits as a 3/4 and has an elite skill set. Age and experience puts him right with our window.

I think his defense is better than he gets credit for and i love the way he shoots the rock. He is always squared up and his shot looks so effortless.
He is type of knock down shooter this team is missing, in my opinion he is the best pure shooter in this draft.

I’m not even sure there is anyone that would argue he isn’t the best shooter coming out in the last several drafts.

Redick came out college shooting 42% his senior year, Kispert is at 46%

Exactly. If we end up picking somewhere between 10-16, then Kispert is probably my favorite prospects. He just fits our roster too well. We need an elite shooter with JJ gone. Having one locked up on a cost controlled contract for 8ish years would be perfect.

With the way the draft typically goes, he will go the pick before our selection.

In the 10-14 pick range he’s a great pick. Not sold on him as a full time player given his average athleticism, and it’s not like he’s 6’10. I’ve watched him several times this year and his shot is consistent of course but comes out a bit flat. He’ll have to adjust in the NBA. JJ type player who can guard bigger.

If he’s not there, in that same range I like Wagner from Michigan. He’s bigger, much more athletic, amazing IQ. Defensive stud with the tools to become a great shooter. And don’t sleep on Davion Mitchell. Looks to me like Donovan Mitchell 2.0. May not be at a role of need, bust somebody is getting a steal if he slips to the teens.

because 19 yr olds go out early kispert looks better than he is going to be.

most of the other first round nominees have glaring development issues, ie cant shoot (say hi Jaxson), or dont try on defense.

so a well rounded game from a senior captain looks great.

Although Kispert can shoot, I worry about taking him too high. Athleticism and length seem average. I wonder if he will struggle in on ball defense and rebounding in the more athletic pro game.

He seems more like a later first rounder than a lottery pick to me. Time will tell.

He’s the guy I’ve wanted for a good bit now. Shot 47% from 3 this year and is a SF that can play stretch 4 too. Post him up at the 3 point line waiting for the kick out pass from Zion when he collapses the entire defense to him driving the lane.

north Carolina won nc 1957.
undefeated.
3 OT over Wilt and Kansas.
the 6 5 carolina jump shooter went in first round to Philadelphia.
they waived him in the middle of season1.

kispert is well rounded but... the concern is real if you have pick 7.

He's looked terrible offensively in his two tournament games I watched beginning to end. Not confident in his jumper and not able to separate/consistently finish in the lane. Not sure if I caught him on bad nights or what, but I think it's possible the additional shotmaking responsibilities after Livers went down exposed some things.

I'd LOVE to get him on the Pels. His combination of toughness and explosiveness is rare.

There are a lot of upper classmen in college basketball, basically no one shoots the ball with the volume and efficiency and against the competition Kispert does.

Cam Johnson came the closest as a 5th year guy two years ago.

He may be an upper class man, but the level of shooting against the level of competition he’s playing against is pretty unrivaled. Buddy Hield is basically the last guy to come close 5 years ago.

Dude played 14 games

Kispert’s played over double that and maintained through the thick of the schedule.

Seddiq Bey would be the closer, better comparison. Played a full season, lower volume but shot it 45% throughout
