He looked terrible. When people have to grasp at things like he drew 4 fouls you are talking to a biased bunch. This isnt worth a convo though, dude played half of 1 summer league game.

It lead to an all time great moment when he was too tired to run back on defense and just yanked the fricking ball out that dudes hands
.
Get him in the gym and get him running again.

We’ll be fine.

Terrible would be what RJ Barrett looked like his first few SL games.

Zion looked OK all things considered and flashed some of his potential, including one of the 5 best plays of the entire summer league. Terrible? No.

I don’t think they ever planned on playing Zion the entire SL and probably only going to play him another game. They saw he needed to be put on a plan with both diet and physical training. Griff says he is coming back to Nola and spending the rest of the summer with the plan they made for him. I also think he and Hayes will be on minute restrictions this summer just to be safe and they will be a full go there second seasons. NAW on the other hand will probably be trying to earn more playing time. We are a different organization this year and so far don’t have any reason not to trust what is happening.

Isn't the ability to draw fouls and get to the charity stripe early and often a big part of the NBA?

Did you see him at the freethrow line? Did you see the jumpshot?
He was out of shape, didnt seem to have the other wordly athletic ability he normally has.

Yall must have some low expectations for Zion if yall were happy with that small sample. Like I said, its not a big deal. It was 1 half of basketball, but in that 1 half he looked bad. Hopefully people close to him told him the same, I like constructive criticism. I use it as motivation to refine my craft. Thats what the greats do. We dont want to get babbied.

Again, 11 points in 9 minutes, drawing 4 fouls.

In no objective world is that "bad," let alone "terrible," as you framed it previously.

Maybe if you had the unrealistic expectation that Zion needed to look like a finished NBA product out the gate, against half the Knicks starting roster, then yeah, looking like only an insanely promising 18-year-old kid with known holes in part of his game, that did all that despite being in poor shape could be construed as disappointing.

But then the problem is on you, or anyone holding him to unrealistic standards, not the people that see that through a healthy prism.

I asked for no pickles on my Popeyes chicken sandwich.

Hopefully next time you get it right.

The expectations are the best prospect since LeBron James from some people. They are what they are. Just because you were some mediocre athlete and didnt have the motivation to get better doesnt mean Zion has the same thought process.

Its ridiculous to classify his play as "terrible", but I also don't think it was "great".

It definitely showed that he was out of shape.

Regardless of what you think he looked like (everyone acknowledges he is out of shape), the "overhyped" comment makes no sense at all.

Neither of these comments address the question. Is the ability to draw fouls a plus is the NBA or not?

lol

You have 24,000 posts on a college message board, using your glory days of high school sports to try and talk shite anonymously at 11am on a Tuesday because people called out your hyperbolic exaggerations from yesterday.

....Just think about that for a moment before you start calling people to meet you at Sonic after your shift.

I'm not the one out here talking about my supposed athletic prowess on an anonymous message board because I got triggered for getting called out on some shitposts.

I'm comfortable in my skin and my own lot, I don't need to overcompensate by talking myself up on anonymous messageboards or dressing other people down personally. That's a you issue pal.

Again, you are on an anonymous message board declaring how much more athletically gifted you are because people took issue with your hyperbolic posts, that's not really the position I'd want to be in to talk up my time and people management skills.
