Not in two years. But in 4-5, yeah. Pels are terrible defensively too. Noel shores that up immediately.

Noel shores nothing up on defense immediately besides possibly weak side blocks. He's too weak to have an immediate impact.

Jrue on the other hand immediately improves our perimeter defense as well as our offense.

We passed on Burke, CJ, and Mclemore to make this trade.

I don't know how I really feel about that. Plus we just blew a ton of cap...

Seems like the slow build was there for the taking and we opted for a good PG, but at what cost?

Holiday will make them better, but a lot of it depends on AD's jump to the next level. He needs to get strong, add that weight and carry them to wins in close games they lost last season. They can go to the playoffs in a sevnth or eight seed.

You say this like we're done for the year. We also have a talented core of Jrue, Gordon, AD, and Ryno (maybe Rivers) who are 23, 24, 20, 25, and 20, respectively. We are set for a long time with these guys.

Noel is a 5. Davis is a 4.

They pair better than two on-ball guards.

So you guys would rather have a pick that MIGHT be a all star around 2016 over one that is one now???

Lol

I fricking LOVE putting it that way. Perspective, people. Real talent > potential talent.

The fricking Kentucky fan is calling you guys idiots for wanting Noel over Jrue.

guys potentially developing get GMs fired. You take a proven vet you know makes you better now.

we could be rebuilding again by the time noel develops an offensive game

This. Once people see his speed and the way he pushes the ball, and his defense, people who don't like the trade will change their minds fast lol.

Its next years first that has got ppl upset abouy this trade. Im not sure we needed to give that up. I love Jrue though. This is the type of trade where we wont know who wins for 3-5 years.

I think you're short selling him.

He's not just a shot blocker.

I would much rather Noel, 2014 1st, and cap space to get a FA this year vs. just Jrue Holiday.

I'm convinced you know nothing about basketball lol. 2 guards who can both handle the ball, pass the ball, and get to the rim, is much better than pairing 2 skinny offensively challenged bigs. Defensively, pairing Gordon and Holiday on the perimeter can be just as devastating as pairing Davis and Noel.

But you have to compare this trade, not just to Noel, but also Burke, CJ, and McLemore.

I have to wonder how things shake out if we would have taken one of those guys and had a wad of cash to spend next FA class.

And who knows, we may have been in a position to take Marion off of Dallas and use that 13 on Shabazz.
