He’s five or six games into his career. How can you possibly be sure about anything with his game. Clearly he’s talented and long and has to get consistent minutes. And then we’ll find out just how much he’ll contribute this year.

I guess that’s the CJ fan’s way of saying yes he’s impressive

It’s a way of saying I like what I’ve seen but still have no idea what he will look like or how much he’ll factor this season. I don’t have him making the All-Star game quite yet.

What do CJ and BI do well when they don’t have the basketball in their hands?
CJ has played off ball his entire career. He’s a fine facilitator but he’s been a 2 guard for a decade. Ingram is the teams best interior passer and willingly plays off ball for long stretches (too long)

They have played maybe 7-8 games together. Let’s give them some time before saying it’s not working. We did beat one of the best teams in the league tonight without our star player.

TNT crew is entertainment, stopped being analyst a long time ago. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the show, but to take their in-season insight too seriously is a wrong turn more often than not. They do get a bit better come the playoffs.

He's wrong. First, how many games have all 3 played together? Second, are they better tonight simply because CJ started hitting the wide open shots he has been getting? Did Zion not playing all of a sudden make him a better shooter tonight? Absolutely ignorant take.

I mean I agree. Even some of our beat reporters called it a questionable take because CJ would be better without the ball in his hand and just moving everywhere for open looks BI or Zion would get him

Yeah, CJ has spent his whole career off the ball, and BI is lethal now on catch-and-shoot 3s. Zion is very comfortable posting up.

The idea that all three need the ball in their hands all the time is just wrong. None of them are natural ball hogs, and all of them are effective distributors.

he’s right, they are a work in progress
no big deal

The others pointed out that they are a young team and that it was early in the season.

what he’s wrong about (just a lazy take not malicious) is that Ingram and CJ don’t do “other things” needed to win. Ingram especially

Yes it was kind of a lazy take. He first alluded to them each being needy with the ball then said they were 3 pieces that did not fit together. He then said they were good players but what kept them from being great was what they did not do without the ball in their hands but mentioned no specifics. You could tell the others on the panel weren't sure where he was going with this.
