Yeah, Chad Ford said the same thing on Sportscenter earlier today.

He also said that Mclemore isn't associating himself with the "right people".

i think on a young team like the Pels with guys who work hard and have the right attitude (Rivers, Ryno, AD, GV) and a coach and GM like we have I would not be too worried about McLemore getting the right mindset

with that being said you got to have a good fit and you want someone who takes this seriously so i can see how he is dropping

its crazy to see how opinions and predictions of players change so drastically without having played a real game for a few months

The more I watch Len, the more disappointed I am in his offensive game. He basically abuses smaller college defenders at the rim. Not sure how that will translate into the league.

Is he supposed to not dominate them at the rim? He will still be bigger than most defenders in the NBA. How will the true bigs in the NBA deal with his athleticism?

One of his selling points was his supposed solid perimeter game. Literally all of his highlights are dunks and layups. He's basically Noel with weight but less athletic (this is where you edit the quote to say something about knee injuries).

Im not questioning his athleticism. But there are a fair share of athletic bigs in the league who won't have a problem with Len.

Not to mention he is still going to miss the next 5 months

This is definitely the time of the year when teams start trying to slander draft picks, behind the scenes.

Russillo and Simmons were saying they're hearing the same nonsense about Noel.

Said who? The guy is an athletic center, not a 4.

No need to edit when you do this. Noel will be out considerably longer. Would you like to drop Adrian Peterson's name now?

There is usually some truth to it. The guys are 19 and think their shite doesn't stink.

It happens every single year at this time though.

Suddenly a week before the draft a guy has a hidden coke habit and is secretly getting advised by OJ, according to "sources" or "people close to the situation"

Been tracking these prospects for a year and now a week out, its boring making the same old critiques of a guy's game, lets start the character assassination part of the program.

I might add that Alex Len scored 23 pts on 56% shooting with 12 rebounds and 4 blocks going against Nerlens Noel (4 pts, 33%, 9 rbs, 3 blks)...

Not sure how he would fit on the team, but if he fell to 6, you couldn't not take him. It is hard to believe anything you hear about these kids at the time of the year anyway.

Positives Skilled big man Good touch around the basket Solid perimeter game Nice passer out of the post Good shot-blocker and rebounder Good athlete for a player his size - Ford

Len is a low post scorer with a good shooting touch who can step away from the basket and make a face up jumper - Bilas

These are the things I read yet none of his highlights showcase him doing that. I love the way he finishes at the rim. Reminds me of Tyson chandler a bit.

My main issue is if he doesn't have this well rounded game, what's stopping the Pels from taking one of the other athletic bigs in the draft?

And everyone shits on Len's PR defense. Aren't you a big proponent of PR defense or is that corndeax?

I figure that we could definitely do much worse.

We need talent at the 2, even if not as a starter, so he and Rivers could be a decent second unit backing up Vasquez and Gordon.

I really think this draft is all about beauty being in the eye of the beholder. You can find things you like or don't like about all these guys. That's Noel's been the top guy for a few months, now it's Len, Mclemore has issues and McCollum us underrated, etc. etc. etc.

I'm just ready to get to free agency and the draft and move on.

His game definitely has some holes and places that could use work, but nobody in this draft is without serious flaws. I personally think he is the least flawed of the available bigs and has a pretty large upside. I also think he fits our roster pretty well heading into AD's prime.

He's definitely not Dirk Nowitzki on the offensive end, but he has a more rounded skill set than Noel. Both of them need work, though.

I think the selling point is that he has the potential to develop a solid perimeter game. When scouts looks at his shots and free throws, they see that he has some touch to his shots. If you look at some of these 7 footers, you just know they'll never develop a perimeter game ie Hibbert.

The DraftExpress video (on youtube) breakdown on Len addresses some of these things.

They say he was 36% in catch and shoot situations. Not super, but certainly promising from mid range. They also cite his quick feet as a plus on pnr defense

after watching Robin Lopez's interpretation of pnr defense, I am big on finding a C that isnt a liability there. Rolo should get better just from understanding angles/players better, but he was horrid last season. end game 1/5 pnr for the other team was automatic.
