I'd be cool with that if you took out BI and added in CJ. I still think we could get more 2nds than 1 for CJ. I know for sure we can get more than 1 for BI.

If we were going to trade BI for (1) 2nd or even (2)2nds then he would have been on the Jazz to start the season IMO.

I really don’t know what kinda return we can get for BI. I thought we’d be on the cusp of a playoff spot and no way in hell Griff trades BI.

But this kinda forces his hand now. Woulda been so convenient if we could have swapped out Murray for BI. And now he’s injured again. But then I read a report the Hawks might have interest in him now.

Just hoping we get some players that are two or three years in that another team gave up on, that have potential to to break out. Like a DD situation. Some of the guys on Houston fit the bill…

There is no way BI's value is less than CJ even with his expected future contract. And I don't see CJ going less for 1-2 2nds and/ or a solid young player.

Like the poster posted above if you swap CJ then I wouldn't be "surprised" if we trade him for Isaiah Stewart + (1) 2nd. Not saying I don't think he's worth more but that offer would be in the "fair value" category.

I would put BI at (1) young player + (2) 2nds for "low value". So (1) 1st + young player or (3) 2nds + young player would be the bottom "fair value" i'd set for BI while being realistic.

If we thought "fair value" for BI is a player and (2) 2 2nds then Ainge would have done that. They probably offered something like John Collins and (2-3) 2nds and that's why he's still on our roster. Or they may have offered (1) 1st + Collins for BI which doesn't include a young player or contract that helps us.

Pels get Jonathon Isaac, Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton, Looney, '25 & '26 Magic 1st, '27 Warriors pick swap

Warriors get BI, Javonte Green, Theis, Corey Joseph

Magic get CJ and Kuminga

Both the Pels and the Warriors get under the tax here.
We would just waive Payton and Looney and give Brandon Boston and someone else a minimum salary roster spot.

Wiggins has shot 38% from 3 the last 5 years. Him coming off the bench for us would be great, or you can start him and bring Herb off the bench.
We would still need a big 5 to help Missi, but having Isaac as the backup 4 and small ball 5 is exactly what Zion needs.

Murray/Jose
Herb/Wiggins/Hawkins/Reeves
Trey/hopefully a top 3 pick who starts over Herb/Wiggins
Zion/Isaac/Karlo
Missi/backup 5

That lineup, assuming $10M for top pick and $3M for pick #20ish, would have a salary around $178M with 13 roster spots (not including backup 5). The tax line is at $188M so you'd have almost $10M to find the last 2 roster spots, needing a backup 5

I think Andrew Wiggins is a lot better than people give him credit for. That’s a solid return if you truly believe in Zion/Trey/top 5 pick to be the main core. Dejounte’s injury is fricking brutal.
