The deal with NYK would be done before the draft, so they wouldnt even know if they would land Kyrie and KD also..

They would trade Zion in a heartbeat for AD though, as they know they can end up with Kyrie/KD or KD/Kemba or even KD/Klay..

Or they may be able to pay Boogie less and get a big 3 of KD, AD, Boogie and still have enough money to throw at someone in the 20 mil range like Terrance Ross

That isn't remotely possible

What's not possible about it?

AD 26 mil
Boogie 25 mil
KD 35 mil

That's only 86 mil tied up in those 3 deals, leaving them 20ish million to play with depending on who they send to us in the trade...

Terrance Ross will get overpaid by someone with all the cap space available, I wouldnt be surprised to see him get 15-20

THey have $6.4M to pay Noah b/c of the stretch.
They likely are going to keep one of Frank/DSJ, that's $4.5M give or take a few hundred K depending on which one. So lets just call it $11M, and assume everyone else on the roster is either traded or not resigned.

AD makes $27M next year, and that's without the 15% trade kicker which i'm sure he's going to have to waive.
KD will make $38M.

That's $76M, leaving them about $33M in space. I don't know if minimum deals count towards your cap space when signing FA in the offseason, but at that point they would only have 3 guys on the team. I do think there's somethign called an incomplete roster charge which counts towards your cap.
They might be able to get Cousins for $25M, i'll give you that.

and Ross signed a 3/31 deal that he coudln't live up to. What on earth makes you think someone is throwing $20M/yr at him in a multi year deal?

The Knicks can make a trade for AD, and sign one max FA like KD, and possibly sign another guy for something under $30M.

Stats aren't everything. Ingram's numbers are inflated on a bad team and hasn't translated to winning. But it should be obvious to everyone by now that the New Orleans Pelicans aren't trading Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers.

1. Boston
2. Knicks

as frontrunners

3. Nets
4. Heat
5. Bulls
6. Clippers

as long shots

Just out of curiosity what do you think a potential Heat offer would look like for them to be in the discussion?

If the Lakers fluke the top pick then I think this changes some.

AD is a far better player than love so it evens out tbh

Them falling to 4-5 is probably more unrealistic than them getting #1

I saw someone mention in another thread, something like Richardson, their lotto pick currently 10, Bam Adebayo, and Winslow. Or maybe at least 3 of those 4.

Could be a risk for the Heat if they cant put enough surrounding talent around hin to convince him to stay, but Riley could swing for the fences to get his next superstar, and bet on their team culture and big enough market status to convince AD to re-sign and attract key free agents.

For the Pels, they get another lotto pick, which could be used to pair with the Pels pick ro move up in the draft, or stay put and draft two good late lotto prospects. Richardson is a near star who would thrive as a slasher, creator, athletic defender in this up-tempo system next to Jrue. Bam is still only 20 or 21 and is the strong defensive-minded banger / rim-protector / lob threat you want from the Center position. Winslow is also good.

Bam / Okafor
Randle / Kenrich/ Diallo
Winslow/ Miller
J-Rich / Moore / Frank
Jrue / Payton/ Bertans

Defense and plamaking would vastly improve. Could need more shooting in the starting lineup. Would be very fun

Agreed Zion is a better prospect than Wiggins, but the Knicks would trade him for AD 10/10 without blinking.

I'm not sure about that.
There will come a day when Davis and his Whopping salary is not as good as Zion in rookie deal.

Davis is still a work in progress.

If I'm the Zion team maybe I gamble that Zion is better and I keep him.

Im doubting the Zion winner parts with him. Ever.
