Noel has outstanding passing ability for a big man much like Joakim Noah

And what evidence is there to support this. I've never heard Noel called an outstanding passer. We traded an oustanding passing big with rebounding and defensive presence inside for Ryan Anderson....

The draft is before FA. So...wouldn't we have to land Shabazz first?

And Davis averages 3.7 points more, 14% higher from the line. 4% higher from the field. 0.5 more steals per game. All as a rookie who battled a couple of injuries. Davis will probably surpass him in rebounds and blocks next year. Dude was a 19 year old rookie for most of the year. Sanders finally saw it click in his 3rd year.

Don't understand the point of this paragraph. No ones arguing that Sanders is a better offensive player than Davis.

Also, there's only so many rebounds to go around with Davis on the floor. It's not that we would refuse a Larry Sanders for the hell of it, but he's not a great fit next to Davis.

What is a great fit?

Let me clarify that I would like Iggy, just not for what he will inevitably go far.

Would I want him starting at Center? Um. Can he play Center full time on a high caliber team? He's 230 lbs. I see him as a defensive Power Forward, personally.

He defended centers last season and did a better job at it than any other center did. He recorded his block triple double defending Pelicans Talk lovechild Pekovic, who is quite beefy.

I hear ya, but I don't think it would be the first time a "down low" deal was worked out.

You're probably right though. I think Iggy would "settle" for the Pelicans. I don't see that signing happening July 1.

Pretty sure every draft analysis has commented on Noel's ability to pass the ball out of the post.

Draft Express:

He's also not a terrible passer, certainly not when considering his overall lack of polish and limited experience playing real half-court basketball, sporting a near one to one assist to turnover ratio.

I found a Scout profile that listed him as a "terrific passer," but that was a high school report. He does seem to be a solid passer from the high post, but that won't matter if he doesn't demand respect from the high post.

I read Noel has already gained 10 lbs since the combine. Obviously the knee had him at such a low weight. If he's there with Len at 6 it's a no brainer for me.

You got a huge 7' with ankle probs or a thin 7' with an ACL

I can't link you, but Ford always raves about Noel's passing ability. If you look at his top-100, I'm sure you could find Ford talking about Noel's passing ability.

Useless on offense?

Len- 8.5 FGA, 11.9 PPG 53%

Noel- 6.9 FGA, 10.5 PPG 59%

One was a freshman, one was a sophomore. Id expect more from a 7'1" center with a diverse skill set.

I appreciate both guys. I think Noel is better

I still think Noel goes top 5. If Orlando and Cleveland make the deal that was talked about yesterday (swap 1sts and 2nds, and Moe Harkless goes to Cleveland), with getting Harkless, I can still see Cleveland taking Noel at 2.

Who does Orlando pick at #1 then, McLemore?

Is Orlando big time on the McLemore bandwagon? Cleveland makes out like a bandit in that trade.

My opinion as well.

Cleveland's big issue right now is filling the hole at the 3 spot. Getting Harkless means they've done that, meaning they can cherry-pick the BPA for the rest of the draft either using their three picks directly or trading up and down to get who they want.

@FletcherMackel: Good @PelicansNBA source tells me draft big board is:
1. Saric (staying in Croatia)
2. Len (will never get to #6)
3. Burke (welcome to NOLA)

Quite the conundrum. Fletch has the Pels w Burke, Double M has 99% we don't take Burke. Which guru do we trust here?
