I think everyone in the national media is somehow expecting this to play out as a continuation of the season, which is ridiculous.

It's really much more like a new season. And that means that you're going to see significant improvement from younger and less-experienced players as they get a 2nd training camp and get the benefit from extended coaching.

You're going to see a Zion who's more skilled defensively. You're going to see a more confident Nico Melli. If they get to play, you're likely to see a stronger Jaxson Hayes and less error-prone NAW. Don't be surprised to see Lonzo and BI even better than before.

Meanwhile, some of the old guys in the league aren't going to have the same quickness or explosiveness that they did the last time that we saw them. Guys like LeBron can't hide from Father Time forever, and when he plays again, he'll be more than 4 months older than he was the last time we saw him play.

All this delay is a real advantage to the Pels (and the Grizzlies). We're going to be a better team than the one that we saw in March, and even more fun to watch.

3 months of rest and conditioning is not going to steal lebron's quickness/explosiveness

but I will agree, 3 months will do wonders for a rookie in terms of overall play

Zion will essentially have had 3 full training camps before his 2nd season.

He will have also had 2 off seasons to rehab.

I think he’s going to come out and frick shite UP

most players usually develop the most after 4+ months during the offseason. Not during training camp

Please note that I did not claim that Father Time will necessarily catch LeBron in these four months. But Time will certainly catch some older guys.

Maybe you’re right because Lebron is prob the most physically gifted player we’ve ever seen. But for most older ppl—if you don’t use it, you lose it.

This will be interesting

For one, they will not be spending that time installing their offense or teaching things that they would just throw out once the season starts. The Pelicans know their system and already know their roles. The biggest thing is Zion has been rehabbing for 3 months, while other players have been isolated. Zion is going to big dick the league.

We shall see. All I know is if he doesn't come back looking and moving like Duke Zion I will be disappointed. Even though he was fantastic during the season, you go look up those duke highlights and that was a different human.
