Again, this depends on the team. You have older aging teams like Miami that may want to see how they fare before making a trade like that in case they need to change course and blow it up. Then you have younger teams like Charlotte that need to see if they’re close or if they need a couple more years of development.

I don’t even think Miami has any assets we want or will trade. Betting on Hornets being good enough to trade for BI- seems like a longshot.

I never said that. You’re posting multiple times the Nets are the only team with cap space to pay him. That doesn’t seem to be true. No need to be bitter. How much space does Spotrac say Wiz or Spurs have- since you’re the Spotrac expert Soggy?
Yoy may have missed the tweet from Smith above that spells out the projected cap space of each team. It is detailed there to avoid arguing about it.

I get that but are we not looking at teams using sign and trades or freeing up space during or after the season. Soggy is using that tweet to say teams would prefer to trade BI midseason because of this. Thats just not true. There are plenty of other ways to get BI without trading assets for him midseason.

Lol im done you give examples and then backtrack when flaws are pointed out.

You consider this pointing out flaws? That’s not even close to flaws, that’s literally what I have been saying as to the type of teams that will look to make Ingram trades in season. And yes, Miami has stuff we would want. They can build a package around Herro.

No namecalling, it was/is a legitimate question.

Do you not get my entire point?

Why wait until the offseason to trade the same assets for BI when you can trade for him midseason and be better this season also? Yes, most teams that are in the playoff hunt would prefer to get better this year and go all in rather than waiting until the offseason. That’s pretty much common sense bruh.

Also with the current state of teams salary caps in the NBA, please tell me this magical way you think teams will be able to free up cap space.

Dude Im not the only one arguing with you here. Like I said if you have to name call to make a point- kind of useless to have discussion with you. Stick with just reposting tweets on the board.

Sign and trades are certainly possible but even then some teams are eliminated due to the new CBA rules. It is a little easier to acquire him during season for some teams in order to maintain bird rights. There is no definitive answer, but it appears you are looking for one that matches your POV.

Im not. I agree with you there is no defintive answer but that doesn’t make
a BI midseason trade anymore likely either. Thats just an assumption to make some fans feel better in holding on to BI without an extension.

I’m a regular poster on Saints Report and I don’t go on Pelicans Report

Also of course I’m not in school, I graduated 22 years ago…

No, it is an OPINION. Others are allowed to have a different one without it being assumed to be incorrect.

Yes my opinion is I don’t agree with his opinion or believe its correct. Dude its a sports message board- stop trying to police it. You always hop into discussions like you’re some board mediator. Let it go. I can post what I want if I dont agree with his opinion. People are ALLOWED to do that too.

So is anything imminent or could something just happen randomly before camp starts?

I know that we were targeting some dates and all of those are past. So I was just curious..

I was always of the opinion that he was never going anywhere unless we got an extremely good offer for him, and that a lot of people were going to be unhappy with that.

I like BI and am also of the opinion that having a legit point in Murray will allow BI to focus on other things instead of trying to run point himself, and ditto with Zion. Both of those guys can do nice things at the point, but neither should have ever been the main point. And CJ, bless his heart, has the same limitations as those 2 trying to run the point.
