We could do a lot worse, he took 3 teams with different styles of offense showcasing a small pg, a sf, and a combo guard.

We could also do better. At all of his stops, much like Thibs, his rotations shrink and he wears out his players one way or another. Either by excessive playmaking/ball handling duties by one player, like Harden, or by only trusting 8 guys.

I don’t want any coach who has any history of wearing out an all nba level power forward to the point wear his knees are shot anywhere near this franchise.

I do wonder, if the Clippers are ousted from the bubble tonight...do we see Lue get hired within a few days by someone and then the dominoes fall quickly?

Or Wes Unsled Jr with the Nuggets.

Who’s father is a great role model for our franchise player.

FYI, Jason Dumars, the Sports Director for Channel 4 news in San Francisco, claimed that according to a source, Dantoni and Donovan are both interviewing with the 76ers this week.

Why a guy in SF would know that I have no idea, but he does seem to be legitimate.

Makes sense for Philly to go after an established HC...but MDA makes NO sense with Philly's roster whatsoever.

Hearing Kevin Love pour praise on Ty Lue has made me like him more. Definitely prefer him over Kidd

I seriously doubt Kidd is even a thought.

It’s not hard to imagine that Lue was Love’s best coaching experience as Love has had some awful coaches throughout his career.

Sure, when I think of a role model, I think more than just film. Sorry.

Apparently MDAs legal team was looking into age discrimination claims against Fertitta during negotiations. Wow. No love lost there.

D'antoni is trash. The only time he sniffed mediocre success is with superstars all on the floor. Defense? That's his consistent downfall. Horrible. Not the guy we need. That was one of the biggest complaints of Gentry.

Most of what you said isn’t actually true.

I don't think he is the guy we need, not sure about trash. I would say his defense was not bad considering small ball vs regular lineups. And beyond your point of mediocre success, those same superstars are just as accountable for his failures as of recent.

Isnt that the case with any NBA coach that has ever coached? Hows post Duncan and Parker Pop doing? D'antoni would be a solid hire.

I'm not sure if the Spurs are the best example to back this up...

Edit: because of the Kawhi championship and making the playoffs every year up until now.

That’s a little dramatic. His 4 seasons in Houston they averaged somewhere between 13th and 14th in defensive rating. In Phoenix they were somewhere between 15 and 16. Now he did have some pretty bad defensive teams in NY and LA, but if we can’t construct better rosters than what he had at those two stops then it doesn’t matter who our coach is.

Dantoni is a 55 win coach if he has a premier facilitator to run his offense like a Nash or Harden. He’s been Gentry in all his other stops with suboptimal talent for his offense, though. Even Gentry would’ve led those Harden teams to 55 wins just like he did with a prime Nash running the show.

This roster in its current state is not built for Dantoni
