Here’s a thought: maybe the dude has a tight or inflammed hamstring. It’s not unheard of, and you don’t want to risk serious damage that could end his season.
Sure it’s possible, but here’s the thing, Zion and BI have both become notorious for missing time because of little things, fair or not it’s the truth.
At this point it’s got to start wearing on your team culture, when you have guys like Hawk, Jose Alvarado, Herb Jones, Jonas previously, etc…. Who have been known to fight through injuries and play even when hurt, then you have your supposed 2 best players who miss everytime they “don’t feel right”, it hurts the culture.
The argument of resting him because he cannot possibly play 3 games in 4 days falls flat when that is what you are asking of Hawk, Jose, Green, Theis, Missi, BI, etc…. Yes other teams rest stars, but we don’t have the luxury of dividing our team like that, we aren’t good enough. We have to embrace the mentality of the team that fights and claws for every little advantage because otherwise we won’t be competitive.
When we are already a fringe playoff type of team, we can’t afford to then treat our stars differently then our other players or it will eat into our culture and we won’t be able to beat anyone.

Zion makes over 400K a game. In 3 hours, he makes what the average person earns in 10 years. If he's injured, I get it, don't play. If he's hurt or sore, suck it up. He doesn't even have to play the whole game or major minutes. Just show up, dress out, sub in for 5-6 minutes a half. Just try. Otherwise it just seems like he doesn't care..

It is an identity created from the top down .
Nah. It's an identity that has been created since they were kids. They pretend to be hurt to get some attention, get carried off the field and go back in the game 2 plays later and are all fine but we just had to stop the game for 3 minutes while they cried and fake limped off the field.
This happens in basketball, soccer, football, even baseball. I've witnessed it in every sport my kids play for the last 7 years.
I've told the kids that I coach if we have to stop the game b/c you're hurt and I have to come check on you as you lie there on the court or field, you're coming out of the game and you're not going back in. Simple as that. If you're hurt, you're hurt, and it's going to happen and we'll take care of you if you're hurt. 99% of the time you aren't hurt when you're 10 years old. suck it up or you can watch the rest of the game from the bench.
They act like this when they are kids, and parents and coaches coddle them. They get to highschool and they have fricking trainers and shite massaging them and what not. The need to complain about every ache and pain to get the medical attention starts at a young age and is just continued as they age and never stops. And most dads these days are too much of pussies to tell their wives to sit the frick down and stop babying the kid every time he falls down. Moms going check on their kid on the field happens way too often. No little 9 year old johnny, you don't need fricking ice on your knee b/c there's not a damn thing wrong with your knee.
Zion comes in Monday morning and says his hamstring is feeling tight and everyone has to take every precaution and make him sit for a week b/c of it.
Karl Malone walks in Monday morning 25 years ago as an old man with some stiffness here and aches there and doesn't tell anyone shite. He just sucks it up and goes play in the game.
That's the difference. They have been taught to be soft since an early age and there's money to be made by the medical world b/c of it.

Maybe you’d be happier finding another team to follow.
