Nobody is claiming he can't get in shape. He has before. The problem is he is too unprofessional and lazy to stay in shape.
Zion has never been "in shape" since he joined the NBA. That would mean single digit body fat, incredible vascularity, and marathon level endurance with a build designed to play basketball. I've said it before, anything over 235-240lbs is a waste and just holding him back. He should have done a body recomp the first year he joined the league.
I don't understand anyone making excuses for him still. I'm angry he has wasted his gift up till now..

You don't think the franchise has anything to do with that though bro? I mean, EVERYBODY who has played for this franchise stayed hurt, some of them had career ending/changing injuries on this team.
I think if Zion was drafted by the Spurs or the Heat, we would be talking about him as a top 20 player EVER in year 6 (his numbers are historically good regardless).
With his current numbers and some playoff success, he's easily in the Luka/Jokic/Bron/SGA/Steph conversation as far as impact.
Idk man. It just seems like this franchise takes away from your career.
Rather it's the gravity, the magnetic field, or voodoo karma, something just ain't right about the franchise as a whole.

There have been many reports of Zion not taking his rehabs seriously. Calling his own shots, not showing up, showing up late, etc. Off the top of my head, he took 13 weeks for a 6 week injury in year 1.
He also requested the team to report that he had a serious family issue while in the bubble, instead of a hamstring injury. We had a whole thread on here praying for his family and hoping they didn’t have Covid (back when more people thought it was serious). He requested to leave the bubble and he dicked around and gained 15-20 pounds in 10 days while people felt sorry and worried for he and his family.
Year 3, he showed up to media day weighing 340 pounds and claimed he would be ready by night 1, but due to not taking his rehab seriously, he missed the entire season. He also ghosted the team to go to Portland and frequently did not respond to their texts and calls.
He also publicly battled with the team by posting himself dunking (taking attention and appreciation away from the team during their playoff run).
Year 4, he botched multiple hamstring rehabs.
Year 5, he came into the year out of shape. We had a good team, but when we got to the play in tournament, he tried so little that it became a national talking point for months.
All of the off the court trash, with him not only being with questionable women, but also cheating on all of them.
Being late to practice, planes and team functions so often that the Pels had to suspend him this season.
Releasing ridiculous shirtless tat videos with food all over the place while the team and Zion were not playing well.
He’s not only the best player on the team, he was given the key to the City by Drew Brees
I don’t think he’s handled his stature to the team, his teammates and the City with enough care and respect.
I think at least some of this is POS worthy. He’s had good moments, but they have been rare.

Yea bro that bubble shite had me heated. He was so damn big when he came back it blew my mind. He didn't even play terribly but he definitely looked worse in the bubble after a historic rookie season.
I just think about the numbers he would have averaged if he didn't tear his meniscus in the pre season. MJ averaged 28ppg as a rook but in 36mpg. Zion averaged 23 as a rook in only 28 damn minutes per game.
Imagine if he was pre season size that whole season. Bro could have averaged 30ppg as a rookie.
Year 2 he wasn't given the keys until January. He only averaged like 21ppg over the first 2 months, ended up at 27 on historic percentages.
Dude would have had the best rookie year of this generation if he never got hurt year 1.

Yeah, the bubble situation was wild looking back. Especially having the team publicly lie about the situation and making everyone think he or his family was in some sort of danger. I would have considered trading him that offseason after that level of shenanigans. I wonder if the team did.
And that was a huge thumb of the nose to the league as well. Remember, the league basically designed the play in tourney slots to get Zion into the Bubble, for ratings. Ja Morant was part of that equation as well. But it was mostly designed for Zion.
Rookie preseason Zion was different. I always wondered why we played him in that last preseason game. He had already proven to be in great shape, an unstoppable force, etc. That meniscus injury started the chain events of injuries and rehab struggles for Zion. Maybe he’s a different guy if that never happens.

Self-respecting, successful men do not shack up with instagram whores. Go find me one perennial NBA all-star who has this issue. He's a childish moron.
Well this is absolutely retarded. You think Ant Edwards is knocking up Rhodes scholars every month? Athletes have been banging groupies since forever. Just because the groupies have Instagram pages now doesn't make them any different. Hell, we have had at least two presidents recently that have fricked the equivalent or worse than Instagram whores.

This needs to be quoted in every Zion thread from here until eternity. He may not be a thug, but he's a piece of shite employee.

We've already covered that Anthony Edwards is another dipshit. That doesn't make it any better that Zion is a massive dipshit, too.

I'm curious who is the second President you're talking about

That wasn't his first injury, though. People are forgetting that he missed 31% of his games at Duke, too.

That is true, but he came back from that shoe injury at a reasonable pace and he was in shape when he came back
I think the meniscus was probably his first real lower body injury and rehab
He was just a different human being at Duke vs here.
