Again, the Pels have no obligation to trade AD today. Even if Rich Paul says “we won’t limit teams today but will if you wait” that’s only because teams are effectively limited on their own right now. You still wait for Boston. Ainge will bet on himself. At the very least they drive up the Lakers offer.

but Dell has been an absolute abortion of a GM.
the problem is that dell never had a consistent plan/ideology for the team. it's like that article about the browns
what killed this team was the free agency period when the cap exploded. using all that money on hill was the nail in the coffin
people will bring up the lopez/evans deal, and that looks bad in hindsight but could have worked. however, we then moved to a different style that excluded evans, so it became bad due to that philosophy change
the thing that really killed us was due to this philosophy instability, jrue took forever to find his niche. if we had jrue and AD playing close to their peak earlier on, then we had an opportunity to build around that. the instability of the team had jrue in 73 different roles over like 5 years.
also, we just had bad luck with injuries. over and over again. it feels like a curse

Can we use this to get moved to the East

i said "may"
there is going to be a million moving parts now, but for this window, one stationary part is the celtics, who can't do shite

Can't blame him. Blame bad management for constantly fricking up having a franchise player.

I rather see AD and Kyrie win over GS/Cousins

Celtics have the best assets, apart from the team that picks first

Yeah. We know. We’ve all been saying that for years.

The Pelicans should have known he was out the door once he signed with Rich Paul in September. If they still don’t have a plan in place by now, it’s going to be hopeless.
I have a feeling letting Cousins go and losing Rondo played a big part in Davis wanting out.

Holy shite a stickied thread? Is that a Pels talk first?

I don't blame Anthony Davis one bit. Dell has sucked as a GM his entire time here. The initial trade he tried to complete with Chris Paul to the Lakers netted us Houston Rockets players that would have barley kept us in the playoffs.
Demps never planned for the future. Always seeking the short term quick fix. He's stupid for constantly trading away first round picks for retread veteran young players that would only help so much.
I still say frick Rich Paul and LeBron. This is their attempt to basically hamstring the Pelicans into trading him only to the Lakers.
Since they don't seem to be interested in waiting to work out a trade with Boston this off-season, I would do whatever I could to send him to Philly.
Screw Rich Paul, LeBron James, and this shite version of the NBA that they have created.
Sidenote Can't wait to see Boogie trash Dell Demps now

frick him. Just make him play it out. Not gonna really matter for us either way.

As long he doesn’t go to Lakers or Warriors, I’ll be happy. I hope Demps and Gentry gets fired. It’s crazy how we don’t have a young core to cheer for. Look at Brooklyn, Milwaukee, Dallas, Chicago, Phoenix who got young players to root.

I'd tell him no problem, well trade you, but the last team im listening to is the Lakers.

Have to remove and change management before any decisions on who to trade him with. They will only frick it up for the next regime.

Not sure why you’re angry. Davis did this in the best way we can expect him to. I’m sure he talked to the Pelicans brass in private well before this leaked out. We can’t win with this group and we don’t have the ability to build a contender in 3 years considering the way the team is build right now. Time to start over and let Davis go. He gave the Pelicans more than they deserved.

Team has mad many arse decisions while he's been here. Ain't all of his fault.

do we have a point of reference where an organization held off on moving a player after a midseason trade request was made?
I'm trying to remember one and just can't.
