I don’t have a problem with him wanting out either. We really didn’t do a good job of surrounding him with talent.
I actually like that he made it public. At least now they’re not delusional about keeping him by making the exact same mistakes for why he’s leaving.

He can inform the team without leaking it to the media

And he might be getting fined for it.

NBA spokesman: “We commenced an investigation this morning upon reading the reports regarding Anthony Davis. That process is ongoing.” One reason: an on-the-record request for a trade by an agent or a player. Davis could be fined.

Soooooo the Pelicans statement saying "We're asking the league to strictly enforce the tampering rules" combined with Marc Stein's report that the NBA has an ongoing investigation is some surefire evidence that some nonsense is happening regarding Anthony Davis.

After hearing the Pels switched to sell mode after being notified, the only potential good to come of this for the Pels is maybe it puts pressure on the franchise to clean house.

So, I'm watching WWL's 5 Pm news. We're almost 10 minutes in and still no mention of our NBA superstar wanting out. That's not a great look for the team's importance. Frank D'amico's NFL lawsuit came before it.

The NBA needs to eventually do something about the players all wanting to congregate in big markets together. Either contract half the teams or enforce a hard cap because the only fans will be the Westbank types and you'll lose a lot of dedicated people.

Soooo anyone in the know care to explain this "investigation" thing---it's going clean over my head.

They are investigating tampering by the Lakers, Lebron and Rich Paul. Pretty obvious.

As much as I would like to see that there is nothing they can do. The NBA is a different animal from the NFL. It's a 5-on-5 game versus a 11-on-11 game that requires offensive and defensive personnel.
It is much less of a team game and thus will forever be driven by star power. No big stars want to live or play in New Orleans.

Two stars have chosen to live and play in Oklahoma. If we were winning he'd be much more willing to stay.

AD telling the team he wanted out is fine. AD's representative directly telling Woj is not fine. They didn't even hide behind sources, this was a pretty brazen power play designed to manipulate the potential trade market in favor of the Lakers and Rich Paul's main client, LeBron.

This is the kinda garbage that makes people not like Lebron and the Lakers. These Knicks offers I am hearing are very interesting. Knox, Kp and the first round pick is a great offer.

It's pretty standard practice.

They'd bolt for a big market if they could.

This is Anthony Davis. Yes we get all three or tell the knicks they are dead to us.
