AD admits he lost the desire to play basketball in final season with Pelicans.

In a recent interview, Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis admitted that his joy for the game of basketball during his final year with the New Orleans Pelicans had reduced so dramatically that he no longer wanted to practice or play.
Preston Ellis of TheBirdWrites.com interviewed Davis about the turmoil surrounding his situation, which included trade rumors and frustration over the Pelicans’ struggles.
Davis noted that his announcement that he wouldn’t sign a contract extension with the team resulted in plenty of vitriol from Pelicans fans.
“I didn’t want to go to practice, I didn’t want to play,” Davis recalled. “There was just a lot going on because I didn’t have that joy with me anymore. Getting into it with the fans, the media, it was just a lot. I wasn’t in a great frame of mind — a great space for me to be joyful.
“Every day was like, ‘Ugh, here’s another day. I can’t wait until the season is over.’ Things like that. You’d see people say, ‘AD, you traitor!’ and I’d think, ‘What? You don’t understand what I’m going through.’ It was all wearing down on me at one time, but I had a great team around me, from my agency to my family to my friends, ‘Nah, forget what they’re saying. You’re doing what’s best for you and your family.’”

poor guy getting paid $30 million a year to bounce a ball

And this is why he's not a #1, he's a perfect fit as a #2 guy and allowing the #1 guy(Lebron) to take on the responsibility that comes with it because he can, AD can't.

I don't really remember it this way. I remember people understanding not wanting to sign an extension, but people were pissed when he basically gave up on the team and pigeonholed them in trading him to the Lakers so he could play with LeBron. Or at least that's how I felt.

Either way he is still a bitch

This happened after your desire to play was lost.
Explain to us why your desire to play was lost after 4 games into the season when everyone was happy?
Explain to me why after starting 10-7, you wanted to quit?
we won 4 in a row to start the season, then you decided to sit out 3 of the next 4 games b/c your elbow hurt from dunking the ball. It was clear your desire to play was lost before the season even started.
Explain that one to us, coming off our best season of your career?
You are a fricking idiot AD.

Or the fact that we know you were talking to Paul George about a trade to the Pacers TWO YEARS before this.

I thought our fans were pretty nice to him. Maybe he has mental issues

Fans were probably telling him to be a leader. In which we can see he’s a beta. Dude is more sensitive than KD.

I'll admit, I lost the desire to root for him a few seasons before that.

ADs facts are hilarious
We have a great post season run by our standards
AD switches agents in the offseason and tells his teammates during training camp that he is trying to get out of dodge
The fans hyped off the previous season are amped to see if the team can build off that run somewhat naive or oblivious to what AD is doing
AD holds team hostage demanding a trade not even a month into the season and forces his way to the only team he wanted to go to through his agent and publicly sabotaging his market
THEN the fans told him to kick rocks, booed, and turned on AD

And not a minute before it. Him acting like we had issues with him not signing an extension is revisionist history.

AD is an emotional lesbian.

I guess.
But people don’t see the behind the scenes of what they do to earn that contract. It’s not like AD wakes up and just naturally became a star. The dude put in that work more than you think. If its that easy to just “bounce a ball” why aren’t you doing it? Or why aren’t many people doing it? AD earned every penny of that contract.
Just my thoughts about that.
