---up where I'm located, I had to watch the Lakers stream so...I've been a bit worried on the lack of improvement by Dyson lately and his seemingly timid style of play. Looks like he's totally intimidated but I fully expect him to grow out of it eventually.
Anyway, had the sound turned down but noticed that apparently Herb got a technical foul & by the time I turned the sound up to see what happened, it was over & I never heard why Herb got the T.
I remember early last year, when Herb was being a bit disrespected by the refs that somebody (I think it was BI) jumped in a ref's face & got a T on Herb's behalf. I like that kinda stuff...& I was hoping that Herb had taken the T defending Dyson. Dyson is struggling for sure & I think it would be helpful for his confidence if somebody (maybe WG FOR EXAMPLE !!) would jump up & take a T for him. Things like that can make a huge impact on a young player's confidence.

Dyson is 19. I'm not saying it's guaranteed he'll overcome his shortcomings, but if he didn't have these flaws at this age, he'd be trending towards a superstar caliber player.

Herb said "That was a foul" and got T'd up. The ref said that was disrespectful... but Draymond can scream up and down the court and not catch a T.

Thanks...I was hoping it was something like that regarding Dyson's layup, which banged off the front of the rim.
Hard for me to find very much "good" to come out of that game...so I guess I was just grabbin' at anything I could find.

I don’t watch a lot of Warriors games but have seen a few non-Pels games this season and what you described is worse than I ever imagined. Literally any other player acts like that and they are going to be out of the game immediately and catching suspensions, but he just gets to do it over and over again. For all the big market favoritism conspiracies that I hear, the Draymond behavior being ignored is just blatant and indefensible.

quote:The craziest part is once he does get 1 technical, it's basically just a tax of 1 free throw he pays to be able to do almost whatever he wants the rest of the game. He can be twice as absurd as before because he's really not going to get that 2nd technical.

It's just gross. The NBA legit needs to get a handle on that. Guys like Draymond and to a lesser extent Lebron can lose their collective shite 15 times a game(not hyperbole) and nothing happens. But Josh Richardson can very calmly with no curse words or attitude, not walking to the ref in an aggressive manner or anything, say to a ref, "Just because he throws his head back doesn't mean it's a foul" and immediately gets T'ed up.

I've often wondered if it's mandated by the league, ie these villains are good for ratings, or if it's more of a "The amount of paper work, reviews and meetings I'd have to deal with if I T him up are not worth it. I'll just let him yell at me some more." It's got to be one or the other the way some players are allowed to do things.

Fairly easy to fix that. Just don't kick him out of the game on 2nd T...that's where the problem is. So, just call all the Ts you want on him and let the fines add up...he'll settle down BUT if he doesn't...his teammates will get tired of him giving the opposing team all those extra free throws. You can still kick him out of the game for CERTAIN things...just don't do it because a "common T" happens to be his 2nd one of the game.
Like folks say...the refs are currently kinda limited on what they can do...once they've used up that 1st T. They don't wanna kick him out of the game...so...wash & repeat on those Ts.
